No more pets. Anything but another dog or cat. My son's fish had a fry last week and we had to go get a separate tank for stupid "Little Marco." I can't anymore. It's clear I'm just going to post through it regardless of the animal slaughter caused by those two numbnuts.

I'd rather protect the pets.

If you have no interest in signing with a team, you don't meet with them dumbass.

There were zero other parties at the time. Heyman was reporting on a meeting that happened 6 weeks prior. If that was what Heyman was doing, it was truly a masterful gambit.

I did not know Heyman was a party in the negotiations.

Most really good baseball agents such as Boras are masterful negotiations otherwise they wouldn't be where they are.

I’ll admit I didn’t read the report, but you said what Heyman said was wrong, and Monty wanted to come to Boston. Where’s your proof that Monty wanted to come to Boston? Saying he preferred not to, and saying he wanted to are 2 different things entirely.

I'm sure if Boston had a competitive (Re: excessive) offer, Montgomery would have had more interest. Interest is often tied to financial commitment. Certainly players want to win, but I can't tell you how many teams have signed with some sub-.500 team for a boatload of cash and then in the press conference talked about how they went to that team to win. When asked about why he signed somewhere, it's really rare to hear a player say "they paid me the most money. Duh!"

Me, too.

For some reason it sometimes seems I get more upset about pet abuse than people abuse.

Part of Boras' mastery is using the press. Quite often having them relay an offer from a "mystery team." Does anyone really think some team said "here's an offer, but keep our name out of it. We don't want our fans to know we are willing to spend money to improve the team."

Good point.

For the most part, BorA$$ seems to get good deals for his clients. You rarely see players dump him as their agent.

This winter, it seems he misread the market.

I did not say that. You are so f***ing dumb.

Where is your proof that Monty would have wanted to come to Boston to narrow it down? I love it when you get all riled up ,and I get MV Pee. The name calling runs in the family with you, and Moon.

You've never though about abused pet owners then.

LOL!

If their pet bit them, they may have deserved it.

No, I never specifically thought about pet owners being abused. It’s not like news stories divulge that info.

Where's your proof that he absolutely wouldn't have? I'm just going by Heyman's report that said it wasn't his "preferred" destination.

With the amount of golden showers you have been punished by after passing out at the local bar after too many Buds, it's no surprise that you revert to Pee as an insult.

We’ll all the wishing, and hoping that went on on here didn’t get anyone to come to Boston, and some actually believed the Red Sox had a chance at the Yam Man.

Some, as in pretty much every fan of every team who thought they might spend the money? but it turns out the Sox had no worse chance than every other team not called the Dodgers.

Who was Heyman reporting on at the time that had meetings with Monty? Nobody else. Go off his reporting! Who else did he report that met with Monty at the time dum dum?!??!

Remember when Jon Heyman was spot on with the Aaron Judge reporting????? so trustworthy, ESPECIALLY coming from NY.

Boras's 2023-24 offseason was more disaster than master.

How many other Boras clients signed, this winter?

The negotiations were handled so well that Jordan Montgomery dumped Boras a week after signing with the DBags.

INJURY UPDATES

@ChrisCotillo

Cora said medical staff is still gathering information on Yoshida. No answers yet.

Pivetta rehab start tonight in Worcester. Bello will pitch Tuesday for Portland. Pivetta could rejoin rotation in ATL.

Romy Gonzalez rehab assignment starts tomorrow.

With all of the injuries this year, this may need its own thread.

I don’t have any proof that Monty wouldn’t have wanted to come to Boston, and I didn’t need any, because I Never said Monty didn’t want to come to Boston. You on the other hand said Monty would have wanted to come to Boston, and now you say you were just going by Heyman’s report that said it wasn’t his preferred destination, so in other words you didn’t have any proof either. I know you wanted it to be so bad that Monty would want to come to Boston that you threw a hissy fit when I mentioned a headline I saw on a report from Heyman that wasn’t worded to your satisfaction that you started your fallback name calling. MVP is two letters to many for you. Just plain P is enough.🤭🙈🤮.

So? Story dumped his agent right after he signed with Boston.

Players leave agents all the time, good and bad. But what happened this year with Boras and the big 4 was an historic failure on his part.

Not enough to dethrone him as the best in the bizz, but defintely a blow to the Boras rep. Certainly, the teams who chose to wait out the free agent market this year generally ended up doing pretty well.

Yeah I have Rafaela twice....no DH

I can see Story and Yoshida being moved to make way for our young stids...

I am elated with the direction of Sox under Btrslow.

A failure by Boras sure, but we don’t know how big a failure, because we don’t know what was out there for offers. There was a reported offer by the Yankees to Snell for $150M.

"It does sound like surgery could be a possibility. I don't want to say that that's going to be happening but, it doesn't sound like a short-term thing here"

I wouldn't say I'm elated, long way to go before judging properly yet (drafting, trade deadlines, see how his trades/moves play out in the long term, development, etc), but early signs are encouraging. His moves are mostly paying off and the pitching set up he has brought in is quite something.

I do wonder if Bailey fancies himself a a manager and he's the one who takes over from Cora next year, with pitching continuing to be the focus.

Crazy to think we're 14 and 3 in games we don't make an error. This team has some real potential.

I'm personally glad we didn't sign Monty (now). Let these kids (and pitching coaches) shine.
