  1. And were 14 games under .500 at one point. Weird statement TBH.
  2. 4. Now Eli White is on the IL? Is there anything to be concerned about with these mounting injuries or is it just maintenance for everyone?
  3. Meaningless to MLB. Georgia Tech had 12 players OPS over 1000 this year.
  4. That's just Jarren being Jarren TBH.
  5. No Jahmai Jones vs LHP at DH?
  6. Uh, Hull is still in High A. Pump the breaks a little on that one. The offensive stats are greatly inflated down there.
  7. He hasn't even gone through ARB before. They've just worked short term deals with him directly.
  8. De Paula is Rule 5 eligible this offseason. The MLBPA is making waves about having a draft during a lockout even though there hasn't been one in the past. With Ohtani and Pages out, it's a good time to bring De Paula up and see what he has, especially with a huge lead in the West. Dodgers are more likely to deal him away, but you never know. Don't really see the same comparison to Arias. Sox can take their time and add him next season.
  9. Ladies and Gentlemen, you're 2nd ranked MLB bullpen!
  10. 1. Seems like the Sox will slide into the 2nd WC spot and go about .500 the rest of the way. Is there a risk to not firing on all cylinders prior to the WC round and playing flat in the Bronx? Or is that overstated? 2. Thoughts on Game 3 starter (Bennett vs Suarez)? Also, is Bennett's recent production due to fatigue or something else? 3. Has the league figured out Caleb Durbin, or was he just due to have his hot streak end? His Statcast page has always been very, very blue.
  11. But the last 50 PA sample size you note includes only 9 PAs hitting RH'd. That sample is so small that it's hard to find much meaning in it. That's basically a bad 3 games. Coming off an injury, there's so much that could affect that sample: elbow pain, opposing pitcher, weather, stadium. As for Alex writing this article, I don't think it's distracting at all. This is NOT a pennant race. The Sox have zero chance at catching the Rays. The Sox are firmly in the 2nd WC slot. It would be very hard to move up to pass the Yanks or move down to the 3rd slot. Even so, many of us are able have multiple conversations about the Red Sox at once. This isn't Chad Tracy talking about Dylan Brown in a press conference right now. We can talk about a ton of topics all throughout the year and it's not really a big deal. It's always been that way on here.
  12. I didn't include Bobs on my list, just Bobbys. Otherwise we'd have Bob Montgomery, Bob Stanley and others listed. Robs, Robbys and Roberts are right out. The closest we get now is: Bobby Witt Jr Bobby Miller Robbie Ray And about 4 or 5 Roberts depending on the year
  13. Hits LHP but absolutely can't pull the ball (and never has been able to). I guess we're keeping Duran. Maybe he can entertain us with a new haircut every week.
  14. Pats have already lost 6% of their season. The Sox losing 2 to the Angels is just 1% of the season and they are already resting up for the playoffs. Not a big deal.
  15. Did Drake "Interception Interception" Maye throw 3 Interceptions at the end of the game last night or no? New England Flops are right no schedule it seems.
  16. Pats are middle of the road in cap space and really hard to compare the two leagues in that respect too.
  17. Well, Sandoval will definitely NOT be starting in the Bronx. There is a conversation between Suarez vs Bennett. Bennett has given up 3 or more runs in 8 of his last 9 starts (5.08 ERA) and seems to be slowing down). Suarez has a playoff pedigree and has pitched a little better than Bennett since coming off the IL. If Bennett and Sandoval aren't Wild Card starters, then the Angels beating up on them at Fenway doesn't matter.
  18. In 1986, 4 MLB teams made the playoffs. When the Pats went to the SB for the 1st time, 10 teams made the playoffs. It is way easier to make the playoffs in the NFL. You can't compare the two leagues with playoff appearances.
  19. Kind of seems like you are. It's fine if you want to. He needs all the help he can get since people typically dogpile him.
  20. The Red Sox have won more WS titles since 2000 than any other org.
  21. Famous bobbysoxers: Doerr Dalbec Valentine Avila Jenks Bolin Less famous: Sprowl Reeves Guindon Poyner (was part of the greatest Sox team of all time though)
  22. Yeah, the New England Flops did just fine in February from what I remember.
  23. What do those teams have to do with the Pats now? What do those teams have to do with Fred being down on the Sox for having a few down years (just like the Pats did)?
  24. You're forgetting all those years where the Sox were in the playoffs competing for a WS ring and winning one with some regularity.
