  1. The prospect the Sox got from the Giants for Mayer, in addition to Miller, has some impressive stats and is just 21. In 168 minor league games, he has hit .314, 12 HRs, 85 RBI, 64 SB. Carlos Gutierrez.
  2. Exactly. When the Sox got Chris Sale from the White Sox they traded their top 2 prospects, Moncada and Kopech. How did they turn out. Average players at best. The players the Sox gave up for Crochet: Teel, Montgomery, Meidroth. Teel injury prone, Montgomery an unknown, and Meidroth an average player. Prospects are just prospects until they do something and most don't ever become stars. I like this trade. It makes the Sox better now. I also like Erik Miller. Good bullpen guy. Sox can win in playoffs with pitching and defense and the hitting they have. Mead also will be back by the playoffs. I like their chances.
  3. Can't even begin to evaluate the trade until the prospects (suspects) do anything at the major league level. It looked like Breslow got fleeced on the Kyle Harrison trade with the Brewers but now that Durbin is playing like an all star and Sielger and Monasterio are playing well, the trade does not look so bad. Durbin is playing gold glove defense and is really hitting well since June. Also looked like Breslow lost the Priester trade with the Brewers but Priester is out for a long time and Sox got Marcus Phillips and John Holobetz for him. Holobetz by himself will be better than Priester. Breslow got Bennett from Washington for Perales. That trade looks good. Can't win every trade but I give Breslow the benefit of the doubt based on what he has done so far.
  4. They will sign him. And remember, Schwarber was hurt when the Sox traded for him in 2021 and he still greatly contributed down the stretch. Plus, Adley is signed for next season. If they can't sign him, they can trade him for prospects.
  5. Exactly. Marcelo Mayer was HIGHLY ranked by the same guy I bet. What has he turned out to be?
  6. Yep. We have John Holobetz in minors from Brewers in Priester trade. He is going to be a big league starter soon. Crochet, Bennett, Suarez and Tolle are 4/5 of a rotation for the next 4 years. The Sox have depth at SP. They needed a catcher who can hit.
  7. I like that they are getting a very good catcher. The prospects look good on paper but they are prospects. If the Sox, two years ago, had traded Marcelo Mayer, Kristian Campbell and Casas in one trade people would have went crazy, Not today. Prospects are just that until they do something. Adley is a proven big league catcher. If they sign him long term they have a cornerstone player.
  8. Save it for the 9th, which was huge on Muncy's AB. Don't use it with nobody on and 2 outs in the 8th in a one run game that you are winning.
  9. First Star of the Game:: Cedanne Rafaela Second Star of the Game: Tolle Third Star of the Game: Chapman, Slaten, Guerrero
