  1. Just stop. You have zero idea what his growth has been. He's tried to kill himself and yet is still here, playing in a notoriously big market with all the pressures that brings. Hate on him all you want, but stop talking about mental health. You sound obnoxiously under-informed at best.
  2. How do you know he isn't speaking to someone? This idea that a person who suffers depression and attempted to kill himself should just stop getting down on himself and show us some measurable change is idiocy I thought we'd left in the last decade. Obviously not. His job isn't to entertain you, It's to play well and earn a career for himself and his family. Entertainment is a byproduct. But your idea that his job is to entertain you, and don't you dare complain, shows very neatly that players are seen as commodities, robots there for our benefit and nothing else. Not human beings with real struggles and flaws. Sounds like he was right when he said I should never have mentioned it. Certainly nothing has been learned for some.
  3. I don't know if it's just the way you've phrased it, but it sure doesn't come across as an 'act'. The guy clearly has issues and his father seems to be very much at the base of them. Nobody has to actively like someone, but weird to actively dislike someone for their mental health issues, but each to their own.
  4. I agree, if we beat the Yankees, we will go far. I don't have much to any expectation we beat the Yankees.
  5. And even so has us in 3rd place with no improvement on last year. I like him, and looking forward to seeing what he does next, but Executive of the Year is crazy talk for me.
  6. As I mentioned, it's highly unlikely he isn't kept on, but if we'd cratered and missed the playoffs or went out meekly in round one after scraping in, he'd be under pressure. That looks extremely unlikely now. He is also the executive that supplied a disjointed roster and needed a once in a generation run, to drag them back in after a horrendous start. And even with this, we are still 3rd in our division. He's got a lot right and a lot wrong. I say this as one of the more stauncher defenders of Breslow on this board.
  7. I think if we eat a considerable portion they will be tradeable. Something we should do (if it's not too severe) to open pathways to Arias and Campbell.
  8. I think Story and Yoshida are a shoe in to be traded. Duran, too. Some pitching prospects in return would be nice. If Campbell is finding himself again that would be a great addition to the team. Our pitching depth is very concerning, but otherwise I'm feeling very positive for the next 2-5 years.
  9. Some good posts for why we haven't yet. One that hasn't been posted that maybe plays a part - Bres isn't guaranteed to keep his job. He pretty sure to, but until it's locked in, makes little sense to put a manager in place if a new GM was to come in. Chad deserves the job and will almost certainly get it. But no rush, he's not going anywhere.
  10. I don't like this framing at all. You're suggesting that Anthony's contract was egregious? I think it'll prove to be very good value.
  11. This is the most fun I've ever had watching a Sox team. We won't see anything like this again.
  12. A It might not work out but he went for it. That's what we've been desperate for.
