The Magic Number is now 9 with 17 games left. I'd say we're in. I was concerned with Toronto's easy schedule remaining but but they lost their last two.

Is anyone talking about the FLOOR proposed by the owners? $174M? Currently there are 15 or so major league teams with Luxury Tax Payroll below the new 'proposed' floor. I can't believe that those 15 'cheap' owners agree to that figure. How can they afford it? Or can they? What will the Dodgers do? Projected payroll for 2027 is $363M. How can they reduce it overnight? Why would another team pay a fair value on the trade knowing that the Dodgers have to shed payroll? I proposed this couple of years ago. Each year, the team would be allowed one exemption for one player. It would be a moving target year to year. Say for 2026 it's $25M. For the Sox, that max would have been applied to Crochet who is making $28M+. Under my proposal, the Dodgers can pay a player $120M for two years and it would only count $25M towards the max limit and not $60M. If we win the World Series, the lockout won't hurt as much.

Isn't it time (next year) to part ways with Duran? My hope is he just turns it on during playoffs and increase his market value. Then trade him no matter even if he's the MVP of the World Series. You know he can't sustain it. At some point, shouldn't a $130M, 22 year old play left field instead of just DH'ing? We also have Mead coming back at some point next year. One more year and Story is history too. -
Right now going into the playoffs, Gray, Tolle and Suarez with Bennett being the 4th starter? Love to see Houck be back for the playoffs. Obviously Crochet too but not sure there's enough time for him to rehab.

Moon, can you give us the starting rotation for September? I'm not convinced we have the playoff spot locked. One injury to our starter (pitcher) will sink us. Is it time to bring back Bello to pitch the 1st inning?

Do we need to skip Suarez and give him a break? He threw 101 pitches, only 60 for strikes. What are his pitching vitals lately? Where is Houck in his rehab? I thought he was throwing regularly in Florida. Has Crochet touched a ball? How about Kutter? 2027 or 2028? Will Casas take 2 more, full, arbitration years to get healthy? You know, be ready to play as a FA?

In nine rehab games, Story is 5-for-32 (.156) with three RBIs, a walk and 10 strikeouts. He remained without an extra-base hit through Thursday. Anthony, for his part, has gone 7-for-23 (.304) with two doubles, two home runs and seven RBIs in seven games split between Worcester and Double-A Portland. Why does Story thinks he is owed a spot in the lineup? I'd be more excited for Arias promotion.

Our magic number is 26, Any combination of our win and or a loss by the Rangers will get us into the playoffs with 32 games to go. That's what accountants do at age 70.

Our lowest OPS guys are .684 and 674, not too shabby for bunch of guys that should not be on the mlb roster. I sure can't wait for Story to return so I can watch him chase balls out of the strike zone in an effort to raise his ops from .547.

I think booing a professional baseball player is okay. But buying a ticket does not give a fan to use abusive language towards a player. Not good for the player nor the fans around it.
