    Too bad our golden boys Anthony and Mayer did not show up.

    I have been reprimanded for understating Anthony's injury. I though it was just his pinky. Apparently its more serious than that. I can't hate him because he has a pretty sister who looks more fit than he does.

    I know he only had two at bats, but he has become my favorite Red Sox along with Triston Casas, Kutter Crawford and Tanner Houck.

    All hands on deck.....call up Franklin Arias. How much worse can he do than Durbin?

    With good starting pitching, everything is possible. 4 game lead in the loss column for the last wildcard spot is HUGE.

    Pitching, Pitching Pitching....I think we need another closer type. Our starting pitching is solid especially if 6 innings is covered by the starters. We could upgrade our pen. Good example was two days ago when it could've easily gone sideways with Weissert giving up 3 runs. Slaten's ERA gives me no comfort.

    Franklin Arias is one step closer to joining the Boston Red Sox. Most of you dismissed the idea of him playing in the majors this year. Well he's one step closer. Why should we spend big money on another contract on a shortstop. If I'm the owner I would insist on playing him first. Quit getting stuck with non productive contracts such as Story and Yoshida, yes Yoshida. He's an overpay. What are we going to do with Kristian Campbell? Looks like Sandoval is a bust at his price. Good thing we didn't give Mayer a longer term so called 'hometown' discount contract. What about trading Anthony for Skubal? With Anthony's $17M coming off the books, we can offer Skubal $50M for two years and two option years at the same price. Net cost would $33M per year on luxury tax payroll. Think big. You think Skubal would turn that down? Anthony's contract runs through 2033? Give Skubal $350M for 7 years. Half kidding of course but serious about our young shortstop.

    What do you want to know? Anthony's pinky still doesn't feel right. He's not swinging the bat. I don't think Crochet has thrown in weeks. My guess is Anthony will have a surgery this winter and won't return until next July. That's what we're good at. Paying injured players good money to rehab. Sandoval will earn $18.5M for 9 1/3 innings pitched so far in two starts. And they told us he maybe back last September. Not going to be negative. We don't need Anthony and Crochet. They have done NOTHING this year to contribute. We have won without them.

The whole point is we don’t want our player, that player, to play injured, especially when it comes to swinging the bat. So, just continuing to get him to where he feels very confident in his mind that that hand feels good. That’s our goal.” So it's just up to Anthony? No medical opinion offered? Heck horse owners spend more money taking care of their investment.

    Nice to hear Contreras say he has no interest in waiving his 'no-trade' clause. He loves Boston. He loves not catching. He loves hitting in Fenway. He maybe our long term solution at the DH spot. Everyone else seems to want to get the hay out of dodge.

    We still have 17 games before the August 3rd trade deadline. Plenty of time to figure out. We have 4 against the Rays, 3 against the Orioles, 3 against the Jays, 4 against the Athletics and 3 versus the Dodgers. 17 games with 1 off day. It will really test our pitching staff. That's games in 6 days, one off day and then 10 games in 10 days. I can't see us parting with any pitchers unless we go something like 3-8 after we return.

    July 12 Game thread Score 2 runs in top of 9th. Chapman shuts down the Mets in the bottom half. We score a run, and Whitlock earns his save in the 10th. Three up three down. We will jump a game ahead of the Astros. Still half game down to Seattle and Twins. (I think)

    I'd say we're doing pretty good considering almost $100M of contracts are not on the field (well I've added Yoshida just because) Ugh Crochet, Story, Yoshida, Bello, Campbell, and Anthony.

    Hopefully that will be the landscape with our pitching staff in 2027

    Sometimes he hedges his bets too much and there's hardly any movement with the team. At least at the trade deadlines.

    One never knows how well Early, Tolle and Bennett will continue as a starting pitcher but we are looking good for 2027 season. We need our boy wonder Anthony to come back and play left field, find a full time DH (right handed power bat 25-30 HR) and a second basement. Strengthen the bull pen.

    Moon is it time to revisit Ketel Marte trade? Gives us no brainer 2B for at least 4 years. He's as a sure thing as it gets, no?
