The whole point is whether he can help the parent club THIS YEAR. What's a big deal if he gets to play in the minors MAYBE if there's a work stoppage when he COULD help us win the World Series THIS year? I just don't get your thinking. The whole idea is to win the big one. Not winning because you didn't do enough affects 26 man years wasted. Think about THAT. -

I just wanted to repeat what I said elsewhere today. Why would anyone want Story back RIGHT NOW when his replacement is 4th in AL OPS for shortstops? I mentioned wasting money on guys like Sandoval, $18M+ for 30+ innings of work over two years. Can we not spend $10M and get a full time DH? Please? It's not so easy to be a DH, especially handled by 5 different players.

Monasterio is fourth among AL shortstops in OPS with at least 243 at bats, .770. Why in the hell do any of us want Story back? 165 AB, .547 OPS? I hope he stays injured.

$18M and 30 something innings pitched. He was suppose to maybe come back a year ago September. We are always hesitant to pay the big money yet we get 'nickeled and dimed' on similar contracts as this. I'm sure Moon can easily come up with the money thrown away contracts. Just disappointing. Any other injured players we can pick up 'hoping' for quick recovery?

Only stat I watch every day is games ahead in the loss column. Despite poor play of late, Sox still up 6 in the loss column. Our bats will come alive at some point. Today could be a Bello day unless he's slated in an opener next couple of days. My guess is Bennett will be skipped on Wednesday. Maybe move everyone's start back a day. Or do it Monday/Tuesday with Bello in an opener game.

It doesn't hurt when you are 6'6" and 250. To think many of us had him in AAA to start the season. It never hurts to give youngster a quick look. He can always be sent down.

Abreu for Vazquez rental to Houston maybe one of our best trades ever. Vazquez subsequently signed with the Twins for 3 years, $30M, saving Sox additional money. He's playing for $1M this year. I'm not sure if I can take a pay cut like that.....but that's the life of professional athletes.

I wanted a reliever, check, a catcher, check, an outfielder, can't have a big hole in left field and DH.

we should give our new white lighting chance to play left field and let Duran rest. 3 positions of needs I thought were 'infield', catcher and outfield. Wasn't there a song, two out of three ain't bad? Love to see Arias brought up.....why wait if we're going to do it in September? Move our shortstop to 2B until he quits hitting. -
Exactly.....we can look at him as a starter next year. Can't afford to screw around right now. We have five healthy starters right now.

Tolle got 24 swings and misses on his pitches, the most by a Red Sox pitcher in more than three years. I know it's the A's but that is incredible. That's the best friend to keep down the pitch count. I've seen pitchers throw so many fouled pitched then to lose the batter to a walk, it's frustrating. Having two rookie starting pitcher is a great accomplishment for Bres and his baseball people. The best news is that neither (under current CBA) will earn service time this year. Thus they are under control for another six years (unless Tolle finishes in top two of ROY). It now appears the trade for Durbin has worked well despite sending two good pitchers to the Brewers. A gold glove candidate 3B with 4 more years of service time is a good get. I do hope to see Arias in September and put the distant between the future and Story.

Finally broke down and purchased last two months of mlb.tv for $39. I'm guessing I've spent close to $500 watching Sox game at various bars. First time in years I didn't subscribe. I've been watching 10+min game summary on Youtube every day. This is fun.

Why not send some one down and call up a starter? Send down Bello if he's out of bullets.

Well I take him over Mayer up to this point.....he jammed his finger again. Tape me up and let me play on.........It appears we're fall for him when it's all said and done. He now looks to me like a Red Sox dude.
