But you(Joe s*** The Ragman) knows more than Heyman, or at least thinks you do.

Where did I say I know more than Heyman? I just know that my reading comprehension is better than yours. I also know that Heyman is just a Boras mouthpiece and you need to have discernment when you read the news.

If you have no interest in signing with a team, you don't meet with them dumbass.

Why would they be in negotiations if he didn't want anything to do with Boston you dope?

Negotiations happen between parties all the time when one party has no interest in consumating a deal with that particular party. It is a common tactic to put pressure on other parties who are also interested in consumating a deal with one of the parties. It is shows a total lack of sophistication in negotiation strategy not to recognize that fact.

In your wildest, wettest dreams that was going to happen, and yet he met with them anyway.

Well, at least my libido still functions unlike you who is constantly pounding away at a limp worm with one hand and barely putting two sentences together while one finger typing with the other.

There were zero other parties at the time. Heyman was reporting on a meeting that happened 6 weeks prior. If that was what Heyman was doing, it was truly a masterful gambit.

What is your source to say there was zero other parties at the time, or today, or think you know more than Heyman, Shaugnessy, Mazz, or anyone else? You don’t.

You may be right, but the media has better, and more connections than ANYBODY on here, which is hard to believe for some.

But bottom line - they make plenty of mistakes and miss lots of stories. And some of them have clear angles.

And let's face it, many of them prefer to be negative because nothing keeps you reading them more than bad news. Nothing in any aspect of journalism (including sports) attracts more readers and viewers than bad news. Mazz, in particular, always reminds me of the Peter Jacobson character from 61*, first man to find/create negativity and controversy to pass it on and keep people tuned in...

Of course the Media makes mistakes, but I’ll still put their knowledge above anyone on here.

OK, but that means acknowledging they are a lesser degree of wrong on occasion...

No one is saying the media gets everything right, or even what % they get right.

And after all this you don’t believe that Monty didn’t want to play for the losing Red Sox, and Heyman was wrong?

Monty was a top target in most of our minds from the start. (Do you remember your posts about his numbers for the last 3 seasons?)

The fact he stayed unsigned so long increased the number of posts about him.

Both are true.

Yes that is true. I was only addressing who was discussed the most, and I think Monty was, at least in part because he was one of the last to sign. I guess I miss interpreted MVPs reply. My bad.

That's not what Heyman said either.

Montgomery preferred not to go there.

It's a very short NY Post article that is still up. Feel free to take the 15 seconds to reread it again.

Not wanting to go somewhere and preferring to not go somewhere are 2 different things entirely.

At least you can admit your mistakes sometimes.

I’ll admit I didn’t read the report, but you said what Heyman said was wrong, and Monty wanted to come to Boston. Where’s your proof that Monty wanted to come to Boston? Saying he preferred not to, and saying he wanted to are 2 different things entirely.

Whenever Old Red and Elktonnick show up together on this board, both a puppy and a kitten get run over by a Yankees fan. Have a heart and protect the puppies and kittens by staying away, doubly so at the same time.

I did not say that. You are so f***ing dumb.

The more puppies and kittens that die in the street, the less that my wife can bring home.

I know it is way too early to call any game “a big game,” but I really feel like a win, today could really set the tone for a while, anyway.

This team has shown amazing resilience and maybe it’s just temporary, but the signs look good.

Top SPing

Decent hitting

Hopeful defense improvements made and about to happen

Management being proactive despite the lack of major moves

The Brez-Bailey combo looking good out of the gate.

If this season ends up falling apart, maybe this will sound real dumb, but maybe our last two GMs did a little better on planning for the future than we gave them credit for doing. Granted, so little credit was given, that “better” could still be bad.

So other teams were negotiating with Monty at the time, but Heyman just wasn't reporting it even though he's the mouthpiece for Boras. That makes sense to you?

You said this…

That's not true at all. Monty wanted to come to Boston, Boston didn't want to pay the right amount. They were in negotiations at one point.

I’m not taking sides. No report quotes Monty, so we don’t know what media reports were right or wrong. With opposite reports being published, some report was likely wrong.

No more pets. Anything but another dog or cat. My son's fish had a fry last week and we had to go get a separate tank for stupid "Little Marco." I can't anymore. It's clear I'm just going to post through it regardless of the animal slaughter caused by those two numbnuts.
