Sox moved up to 11th on MLB.com's power rankings, but still behind KCR, who we just passed in the standings.

The top 7 all stayed the same.

Will Leitch hates the Red Sox because he's a Cards fan. Power Rankings are silly anyway.

Well, even he had to raise us from 13 to 11.

3B: Devers, Romy (Meidroth?)

I think most fans are only concerned what the 2024 Red Sox looks like right now especially the way they’ve been playing lately, and are looking ahead to October, and a possible berth in the postseason.

If hamilton continues to hit, I'm thinking his name should be listed in there some where.

Zero chance Blaze Jordan appears next season. He always struggles after promotion and I don't think he's going to do well in AAA for a while.

I had a hard time finding a backup 1Bman. Maybe Kavadas or Meidroth?

Brandon Drury?

Struggling with health and at the plate so far this year, but certainly fits the bill otherwise…

No thanks on Drury. Just more of what we have had too much of, injury prone and no bat this year. Plus I would have to tag him Dreary Drury killing the buzz on him.

Power Rankings aren't silly.

They're stupendously pointless and asinine, a complete waste of human time and energy.

Only if done by a STL fan.

My power rankings would be fun.

Personally, I think Tyler Anderson and Paul DeJong would make for an excellent pair of deadline acquisitions…

Certainly agree on Anderson, plus you get another year from his contract. Who gets demoted in favor of DeJong---probably Gonzalez, Hamilton goes to 2B ? When Grissom is finally ready , I will be sorely disappointed if they do not give him a 30 day stint at Worcester while the current squad gets us to late July and through the deadline activity, if any.

ALL low cost players--John Henry will be giddy.

It’s there twice

Sorry - I guess I was looking closer to the starting group. I'm becoming a senior citizen. When they got down 6-2 last night, I chose to finish reading Yaz's segment from Posnanski's book before turning out the light. Ouch!

I am not sure I can get away from speed ball. Grissom has to be awful good to play over Hamilton as an examplr.

Grissom has an option already exercised for this season, plus one more remaining. So he can in theory play Worcester Ball until neeeded.

To accommodate DeJong, you can demote Valdez, assuming no one is injured. If Hamilton will be at 2b, do you need Valdez as much?

I don't think they used an option on Grissom yet. He was in AAA on rehab which doesn't count against options.

Hamilton is gradually becoming special. Speed defines him I guess but the bat is alive right now. He needs to in the lineup. If things continue the way that they are currently going, Grissom is going to have to prove beyond a doubt that he belongs in Boston before he gets there.

Hamilton has a pretty nice swing. If he keeps it simple and doesn't try to do too much, I think he'll have a spot on this team for a while.

Do we trade Hamilton since his value is about as high as it will ever get??

Not sure his value is very high. Would the Sox be happy with a reliever or a mediocre prospect?

Posted
Why do people assume based on a few good weeks that teams (who literally are the experts doing this for a living) would even overinflate a guys value MORE and pay a big premium for them?

What is this weird trend of whenever someone is doing well, people on this site want to “sell high” and trade them? its been suggested for Duran, Rafaela, Houck and Now Hamilton

They think MLB GMs only value players based on their Yahoo Fantasy Rankings with the setting on “last 7 days total”?
