  1. I think that I would add Bennett to the no can trade list. Another quality young arm.
  2. I doubt that he is going to be traded but based on that very small sample size which people like to talk about I haven’t seen much to make me think that he is going to be a major upgrade in the power department and his fielding is suspect. If it came down to trading him or one of our young starting pitchers, he would be gone yesterday.
  3. Oh wait I think that I should have added Houck, Bello, Crawford and Duran to this list as well as any number of others that no one would want.
  4. There is no way that I would trade Eyanson at this point. Witherspoon maybe I guess. Arias reluctantly. I would give up Early before I would even start thinking about Bennett or Tolle. Chapman - yup Mayer - yup Anthony - possibly Gray - either trade him or sign him up for a couple of years. I understand that you have to give up something to get something but giving up very promising young pitching to me is just foolish. I’d sit on what we have before I would trade any one of them. I doubt that anybody is going to blow us a way. We just need one more power bat in that lineup.
  5. Maybe you don’t.
  6. Pitching, defense, and a healthy dose of small ball, something we haven’t seen in years, looks like real baseball again to me.
  7. Giving up any of their top quality young pitchers in my mind could be likened to a criminal offense.
  8. Very good and very powerful.
  9. In addition to pitching, sometimes catching and any place else on the field that he is needed.
  10. Confusing time for sure. With this latest upsurge, I actually am enjoying watching baseball again. I am one of those guys who just wants a competitive team to stand behind. Obviously we have some holes here but our young starting pitching along with Gray and Suarez has been incredible. Once again, I think that trading any of our young pitchers at all in addition to Arias would be ridiculous.
  11. Notin this is why I mentioned Tolle. People have consistently included his name in possible trade moves. Likely no one is particularly serious. At least I hope not. We have plenty of players that could be traded without causing much of a ripple. I was shocked that a trade wasn’t made in the off season or a free agent sign to give us what we need - one more power hitter. Trading a young pitcher like Tolle would be ridiculous.
  12. Tolle is big, likeable with a personality that makes him a fan favorite. Trading away a potentially excellent starting young pitcher who at least at this point looks durable would be absolutely foolish.
  13. Two nights in a row he hurts his team by not being on the field. I understand why he is emotional, I just don’t need to see it all the time. Two nights ago he pounds one out big time. After the way he carried on after the hit, what do you think Pedro or Gibson would have done the next time he came to the plate? Shut up and play the game.
  14. Nothing would make me trade Early for sure and likely Bennett as well. Two kids who don’t overthrow and who are learning on the fly. I would trade Houck, Crawford, and Oviedo before I would trade either of those two.
  15. I think that that leash gets shorter every time Arias puts on his uniform. I like Mayer but at some point you improve with a better player if you can.
  16. What difference does it make where this team will sit in the draft. Mayer was the #4 pick and we are still waiting. This organization can screw up a pick regardless of when it comes along.
  17. I agree and I feel the same way about Crochett. Why waste his starts on a team like this? I love the young pitching corps. Let them get the experience they need.
  18. I would not trade Wong.. He is a perfect backup catcher for a team with a real starting catcher which we do not currently have.
  19. I’ve liked Eaton for sometime now. I’ll never really understand why this organization does some of the things they do. They brought in two utility players that they really didn’t need.
  20. I agree. We brought in AAAA free agents when we had plenty of them tucked away. Eaton should have been there day 1.
  21. I made a mistake there I meant to say Arias to short and Mayer to second but I could live with it either way. As for Mayer, I think that he is extremely talented and will someday be much more than worth the wait.
