The Red Sox had a chance to move up to Fred’s 4th place in the standings, but instead lost another series at home going back to 9 games UNDER for the season and a embarASSing 10-21 at Fenway. A rinky dink MICKEY MOUSE operation from JH on down.

They would have had to sweep to get out of last place. That wasn't happening.

I think you’d need Eyanson to get deal done…..

Neto is Really athletic, like really athletic great shortstop I believe top 5 in DRS since 2023.

I don't watch enough Neto games, but why is his OAA and FRV bad?

Not a big savant guy but you’re right his 2026 stats look pretty bad. I’d still do the trade. For a couple reasons. 1. he is only 23 months older than Marcelo. (Plays a lot more games) much  better baseball player IMO

2. Eyanson might be really good, but we can get pitching and have 4 SP’s locked up for 4 more years. And FA pitchers seem easier to acquire than good middle infielders.

Need something -- two of our top four returning Slugging leaders from last year are on the IL and when they weren't, they were over a hundred points lower than '25 (I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt that injuries were affecting production).

And it may be folly to expect either Anthony or Story to return to '25 status when/if they return in '26. Roman has "a Casas injury" -- incurred from doing his job swinging the bat... and Old Man Story has to recover from a hernia op and resume being an elite professional athlete in his 30s.

Has anyone here had a hernia op and just tried getting out of bed and walking down the stairs? Let's put it this way: I played hurt all my life with pulls, strains, sprains and fractures, and my double hernia operation was more painful than the actual hernia.

Gleybar could help, but he's not going to put this club in contention by himself. If Brez can't trade for a guy who's going to be part of the solution when they intend to go for it again next year, then what's the point?

Oh, yeah: make a move to pretend to fans...

had double hernia. And you are NOT ready to go in a couple weeks after. Maybe 8-12 weeks to play baseball. Just guessing. And when he eventually does, he’s not coming back tearing up his stat line. He’s done. He had the best year he was going to have last year.

Are you banking on Bello as one of those locked up starters? 🤔

CG Era?  You lost me.

Dombrowski originally signed Rafaela.  Bloom traded Vazquez for Abreu (and Enmanuel Valdez)…

A lot of pessimism with which I mostly agree.
