  1. Grichuk has a negative bWAR over 2025/26 and Bleday was cut by the As. Hoping that either of them was better than the 4.9 bWAR Duran is wishful thinking. Even now, Grichuk has -0- HRs and a 16/2 K/W in his last 65 ABs.
  2. An informal rule to be sure, but yeah, everyone has a weakness. Take a look at the NYY with Wells, Jazz, Grisham, and McMahon all under a 1.0 bWAR.
  3. Rogers had to go, no doubt in my mind. And I don't think anyone picks him up this late in the season. He's a fine insurance policy for us.
  4. Gotta agree. It's like feeling sorry for CEOs and CFOs. When you get paid millions, you have to put up with a lot of downside risk.
  5. It's funny, but I'd have never heard of the guy. But he became a known name due to Boston>Mead>Early cycle.
  6. Based strictly on RF/9, it is 45 chances per year, but the range difference doesn't calculate extra-base hits. And you can't use 35 hits if one player has more power. A straight extrapolation of the HRs/AB would give Duran an extra 22 bases. While I am okay with Yoshida at DH, and always have been, there might be a reason he was untradeable at almost any price.
  7. You can never tell how these things work out, but Rutschman is about 200 points better than Narvaez, Anthony about 150 points better than the current Duran, and Mead about maybe 50 points better than the current arrangement. That's significant.
  8. It's tough to assess the manager without seeing the team play every day, but it feels like Cora and Thompson got fired for less under-performance.
  9. I'm thinking he goes on the block with Wong, Durbin, Monasterio, Yoshida, Bello, and everyone else that a fair amount of folks in here wanted to s***-can. And y'all might be right, but it feels like folks are ignoring 15 HRs and 12/1 SB/CS against righties this year. There are some good stats buried in those abysmal strikeout rates.
  10. They've been 25-34 since 6/1. I'm not cracking open the abacus for that calculation.
  11. Again, it isn't a matter of either/or. I could be wrong, but I'd have NP with Yoshida being a FT DH and Duran/JJ splitting LF.
  12. Ouch! Today's chart feels like we used a lot of BP time in a loss.
  13. You're looking at rotating Duran and Yoshida with another LF/DH. He'd have to be a righty.
  14. My position always been that would be an off-season move, maybe in the DR or something. Now I question the need to do it at all. His 34.2 bulk innings has come in 6 games, or 5.7 IP/G. And picking an opener comes with a set of advantages by matching L/R openers by opponents.
  15. I'm quite certain they didn't overlook his injury history.
