    I think Story will be fine. He's gone through these streaks far too often. But I hope he realizes that NO ONE is going to be sympathetic to him or the other players. They were the ones that got him fired. I think Crochet summed it up well saying he took some responsibility for Cora getting fired.

    I doubt they'd have done that deal. Bello, with that salary, is hardly an asset.

    You are better off just admittibg you were wrong about both guys. Henderson was 8th in MVP voting in 2023, and 4th in MVP voting in 2024. Tatis has finished 4th, 3rd, 14th and 8th in MVP voting and is a 3x AS. It is hard to believe that you want to continue to insist the world is flat.

    You are, of course, correct. He did exactly what he was supposed to do. Too many people think a play, or anything in life, is smart only if it is successful.

    Many fans think a smart play is when the runner is successful, and a dumb play when they are not. In the play I earlier referenced, the runner tagged to go to 3rd where he could score on an out. That was the smart play. It didn't become stupid just because his slide pulled him off the base. And had he not tagged up, the same people that criticized for tagging up, would have criticized him for not being aggressive enough.

    Seriously??? great base running I interpreted that as you didn't like the aggressive, but correct, move to tag and go to 3rd.

    He beat the throw but slid off the base. That's smart baserunning, but a sloppy slide.

    Tatis was busted for PEDs. Had nothing to do with the press. Henderson has the 3rd highest bWAR among SS's over the past three years, and the #7 overall highest fWAR. Were you trying to be sarcastic?

    24 hours ago, Monasterio had a .544 OPS and fans wanted him replaced by Cheng, et al. I believe someone suggested we play with only 25 guys on the roster. If he gets one more hit, fans will want him to bat cleanup. And if he strikes out twice in the game, they will want him back in the minors.

    That reminds me of the olde days, when the 'you know who's' would blame Tito for 'not making things happen'. Like making a bad move, just for the sake of making a move, ever winds up as a positive.

    I think I agree. It kind of ruins the game a little if you bring in a position player every time you are down 10 runs. Theoretically, we could have Monasterio throw 3 innings, and instead of losing 10-0, we could lose 30-0.

    I'm not a fan of the sacrifice, but if you don't sac the #9 hitter, with a guy on 1st, -0- outs, and a 0-0 game, then you will never sacrifice.
