    all of that makes sense except for the AR trade. he is a free agent after next season -a season that may not even get played. IMHO, Bresloverpay gave up waaaaaay too much for him and only getting him for the last 1/3 of this season makes it even more ridiculous.

    as well as he has upgraded the entire pitching staff, if he does trade both of them, i have confidence that their replacements will do better.

    college baseball may have gotten better over the last 10-15 years or so, but it is nowhere near the level of AA. however, i do agree that college baseballs is far more competitive and they are, without a doubt, trying much harder to win.

    not surprisingly, the Sox have scored fewer runs this year than every team now scheduled to make the playoffs. the pitching staff has carried this team all year and when it falters, even a little, there is little chance. i know Alonso and Bregman would have cost the team's billionaire owner a few dollars he could easily afford, it would have been nice to have their bats in the line up all season.
