  1. And that’s why I always try to not approach it as an argument. Doesn’t always happen, but It always helps to understand the POV of the other side.
  2. So we agree on a lot actually. hey, Criswell helped this team out a lot when needed. Don’t disrespect the Crizz😝
  3. It’s what he got back. Not the net gain. More bodies back but less talent. Anderson is useless.so is uberstine and Rivera is a BP arm. his injury guys Sandoval and Oviedo (Criswell loss) were both questionable at the time. Why even trade Preister? Two starters and a reliable middle IFer for 2 AAAA IF utility guys and a soft hitting middle IFer profile playing out of position was dumb. if you think more bodies back is better than more useful talent then I guess you’re right.
  4. Once again, the whole point is having depth. He traded for them, yes, which I mentioned. But then got rid of too much. Speaking of the Oviedo mess, let’s not mention Cooper Criswell who was pretty reliable as a fill in starter or long relief. We paid him 800k then a month later Bres acquired Oviedo and just DFAd Criswell. I remember seeing plenty of other names that could have been. But he chose another depth arm. four Starters are out, Bennett takes one spot. we had plenty of good depth in 24 and 25. We needed it this year. A lot of those names we got back are not better than what we had. Gray Tolle Bennett….do we call Bello back up? Will Sandoval fall apart before or after he’s called up. What a mess. How many of those names you listed we got back will or can help us this year? How many are on the 40-man?
  5. Dude, I’d take Shane Drohan, the other starter in that deal…he looks good this year too. Not as good obviously but we can’t be oo choosy at this point. Might as well give Eyanson a shot
  6. I remember a year or two ago and we had more pitching depth than we could handle. Now we have a bunch of oft injured guys Breslow was counting on while he shipped every lest bit of depth we had. One smart move was Bennett. At least he replaced what he traded. I can see a couple deals he made were ok, but to trade almost every one of them was absolutely stupid. And NO, Caleb Durbin and two AAAA middle infielders was not worth Harrison Drohan and Hamilton. Preister was traded for nothing and no reason. I’m still mad about that. its not that I thought they would all turn out to be studs. It the fact we needed pitching depth before the season and now we REALLY REALLY need it with Suarez and his groin, and don’t have it. Thanks Bres… Under qualified and in over his head. Made some decent trades and threw a lot of it away.
  7. I guess Ranger won’t be at the ASG with a groin injury now…sucks
  8. I never laughed so hard. you guys were priceless. I almost wish he was here. He was harmless and very entertaining
  9. Might have been me..haha. I remember him sending me DMs to discuss topics. He was rather cordial in that arena, but when we were back on the forum it was business as usual…
  10. I’d trade Mayer. Arias is looking more and more like the real deal. What would Schmitt be worth from us? I’ll have to look deeper into his numbers.
  11. Durbin is a name I really haven’t heard yet. For what we gave up for him, and considering how he’s playing, I’d throw him in the have to be overwhelmed section…but that’s just me. I really like his game now that he’s got things right again. Rather see him at 2b though
  12. Softlaw, that’s right, ! 😅
  13. Maybe under a different name but it’s more just the back and forth like y’all had with the one poster you constantly called a clown…haha. It’s entertaining to me . I could read that banter for days.
  14. Haven’t heard that name in a while. Haha good times.
  15. Reminds me of the old Boston.com days with y’all😅
  16. You think Suarez . I always spell their names wrong
  17. Gray and Chapman for sure, Cedanne and Wilson maybe.
  18. No, I said stock up on starting pitching so we can trade for one
  19. Agree on all…but…the other bat was Alonso. We needed both bats. He got Suarez when they whiffed on that, which I liked a lot. And still do. We still need that other big bat like you said though if we’re going to be taken seriously.
  20. I told you I liked the starter for starter trade. He traded away healthy arms to rely on starters with injury histories. Sandoval, Oviedo, and relied on other hurt guys like Houck and Crawford. Dumb. That’s a stupid plan. Trade away young healthy arms and pay guys who have arm issues.
  21. A tad but I’m trying to make my main point. Which is he’s traded away a TON of depth that I certainly at the time, and now, disagree with. priester going down this year just proves how valuable depth is. I didn’t think they would all be all stars, just bodies that I believed we needed. Pitchers go down all the time. I’m not bashing everything he’s done, but pitching depth is important and if you trade it away get something equal back. Durbin, who they messed up, a replacement IF, and some kid from the Yankees drafted in 2018 isn’t exactly a great return for a couple MLB ready starters and Hamilton, in my very humble opinion.
  22. Did ALL the pitching depth go to those players? No…we gave the Brewers their starting rotation though… listen, the whole point is the fact that he traded away all of our good pitching depth that every team needs and mostly counted on a bunch of guys that have been injured for the last year or two.
  23. We could have used what we had. Admit it. He screwed up and left our pitching depth in worse shape. Most of The guys he was counting on had been hurt the last year or two. Houck Sandoval dumb signing) Crawford are all hurt again. I like Bennett, but Bennett/Perales was a parallel move as far as depth arms. I’ll admit I do like some of his pitching moves but once again it’s about timing and replacing what you had. His inexperience shows
  24. Boy wouldn’t all the depth arms we had that Breslow traded away come in handy this year?
  25. I had no issue with him at 3b. Frustrating for sure. He made some crazy good plays then kicked the pooch on some routine stuff. The whole situation was botched from the start and went south very quickly. could have even avoided. overall I don’t care that he’s gone and didn’t think he deserved that big deal anyway.
