  1. Yeah, and he was just hired for the asst GM position within that same year so he had little experience as even as an asst GM. He is grossly under qualified for the position of PBO
  2. Bennett is so damn slow to the plate. They HAVE to do something about it. The throws aren’t even close.
  3. Owner philosophical views have changed from Theo to Cherry to Dom to Bloom and with Breslow, he here because nobody in their right mind will work for Henry so he had to hire an Asst GM with little experience at that position. It shows.

  5. I said the same thing. Live down the road from the stadium. When he was healthy there wasn’t anything special there. And he’s got zero personality
  6. I think it depends on what’s offered at the deadline. With another year of control and having shown steady power, a ba at 280-300 and solid D. If someone is willing to pay for him I let him go.
  7. It would be just like Breslow. In over his head. Our owner has alienated most MLB FO execs. So this seem like the type of clown show we’re gonna see within the Red Sox FOfor the next couple years anyway…I do wish he’d sell. No chance on that…anyone got 5.25B?
  8. You can probably add Cora to the list of many possible MLB front office professionals that will not work for John Henry. Breslow is an asst GM who’s in way over his head.
  9. Agree. If he can have some consistent success over the next month he will have some value at the deadline. Limited I’m sure, but I’ll take a prospect for him.
  10. Yeah I didn’t notice all the responses until after I posted.
  11. Bello and Whitlock will get a LOT of interest but not so much Campbell. You have to take some of that money. It was a mistake to give him a deal. Anthony too, although To a lesser extent. . No chance on Sandoval. Story will be offseason, if at all. Eat 10-12m, or add a prospect and Yoshida would find another home for a year and a half. the rest will bring something of value back at various levels, depending… I would also listen on other players just to get a feel for their value… or maybe I’ll get blown away and can’t say no.
  12. It’s a mutual option unless he hits 40ip where then it changes to a guaranteed 13m for 2027. So if they trade him he will not be a rental and will bring back a lot more
  13. if you’re offered a good deal you take it. With one year team option he’ll have more value. I’d definitely listen to offers
  14. I’d believe it. Nobody wanted the gig.
  15. My guess is Theo suggests things and Breslow already thinks he knows everything. I dunno. Either way you’re right…it’s NOT working. When nobody will work for this owner you have to hire asst GMs to be president of BB ops. He’s clearly in over his head with a number of things. If he was head of all pitching and development I’d be ok with it. But this position is too much for him.
  16. I get this. Unless you make the big moveS you need this year to be a legit WS condenser, which they are not, then you sell and look to 2027. We have a horrible home record and also one against above 500 teams. That doesn’t win anything. we know they won’t spend to go over the next luxury tax threshold and they need a few pieces to be taken seriously. All this is providing they can jump 7-8 teams to get the final spot without making any big moves. Tall order. they would have to go 625+ the rest of the way to even match last year. They have a 409 winning %. You don’t fix that with one RH bat. if Henry can get Theo to “advise” Breslow at the deadline then we could end up with a bit of a bidding war for some of our guys. I understand we have folks who think rentals won’t get much, and I understand that to a point. But the deadline is different if it works out right. We got some important pieces that are performing. Gray and Chapman. It all depends on how important the player is to the team and how important winning a ring is to an owner/ front office. my only worry is Breslow leading the charge. He’s a bafoon and would get fleeced.
  17. Agree. A floor is more important for a competitive balance. My original point was just that. If the6 want a cap then they need a floor too. I don’t think billionaires should get and cash for not spending. Sounds unfair to owners, where in some cases are worth less, but put more of a % of their money earned from the team back into their team.
  18. Just shows that if there’s a cap there should be a floor. They are more competitive at just 120M. But that will probably never happen. Even though that’s how you get better teams and more competition.
  19. A 415 winning % , regardless of being 4.5 out of the wildcard, is NOT a serious world series contender. Breslow has proved that his pitching program is pretty good. Everything else’s he’s done pretty much sucks. I hope he’s not still thinking this team has a legit chance this year. They have an opportunity to get some good young controllable ballplayers back for next year. Unfortunately he’s kicked the pooch on his trades so I’m not too confident we will be successful with him leading that charge. I hope Theo steps in and “advises” him along the way…
  20. Weren’t the As forced to have a 100m payroll this year?
  21. Breslow should only be in charge of the pitching, which he’s good at. Everything else’s, he’s grossly under qualified…that’s what happens when your owner has zero loyalty to anyone but himself.
  22. had double hernia. And you are NOT ready to go in a couple weeks after. Maybe 8-12 weeks to play baseball. Just guessing. And when he eventually does, he’s not coming back tearing up his stat line. He’s done. He had the best year he was going to have last year.
