    That’s a ridiculous price to pay for CJ Abram’s. don’t need him if it costs us that. Delzine and Valera? I’d rather trade them for a RH starter or a different bat. Abram’s bat will be ok in Fenway if his breakout year was for real, but not for that price. Two RH pitching names I’d be interested in are David Bednar for the back of the pen and Casey Mize for the 5th spot. personally, I keep both young RHP prospects. We don’t have any of them with as much promise. I’d let them develop for another year and if you trade them they’ll be worth more. Valera is returning from TJS and Delzine looks like he could be a special pitcher. I agree to trade story and Yoshida but I’d add a prospect so I don’t have to send that much cash, but the idea is right on. Eat cash, add prospects to get them off this roster. we have redundant positions in the minors. We should look to add them to any deal involving those two.

    Right now it’s Bello Houck and Crawford at the top of the list. I would hope he goes outside the org to pick up a solid RHP without a ridiculous injury history. I wouldn’t rely on the latter two and Bello is just so frustrating I think he’s a perfect change of scenery guy that a bunch of teams would want at his AAV, so he’s on my trade list as well.

    True. We had bats for sure back then. we absolutely need to pick one up this winter. Only one way to find out if Arias can hit in MLB. Let him play. I don’t think he’s got any more development needed in the minors. The rest should be in Boston. He’s hit well and played solid D at AA and AAA so let’s see what he’s got. He’s confident enough to not let a rough start bother him. He’s confident knows he’s good.

    Moon and another poster, Dewey I think, also had a love affair with another defense first SS, Iggy. I remember the Iggy vs Bogey battles. Good times. Iggy turned into a good hitter. No real power, but a good BA and that glove…man, was it good. Cheng is a good utility defense first guy. Probably an up and down AAAA guy.

    He doesn’t have the holes that KC does/did. He’s waaaaay more fluid on defense as well. I’d let him take his lumps at SS and move Story and Yoshida if I can. Eat money and add a prospect if necessary without giving up too much. I’d eat Story’s buyout as well as up to around 8m depending on the prospects involved. Same with Yoshida. Just clear them off the roster and save what we can to use elsewhere.

    Which is why I’d take that chance. It wouldn’t clog up the payroll like Story’s does. I imagine he’s healthier and can hit better so I’m good.. The price may be because I hear his glove is all but useless. Heard he plays the corners, but at the teams own risk…we have a spot at DH. If we can unload Yoshida

    10m was the buyout that st L sent over with him. We were never going to pick up a 30 m option.. I’d pay him a 2/50 deal though.

    It looks like Breslow has been drafting offensive players with good BA and OBP. Something we need to focus on, so I know he understand this. We can’t have a bunch of 250ish hitters up and down the lineup and expect consistent results.

    I’d take my chances with that Sato estimate. That’s 16m per. As long as his bat plays in MLB that’ll be a great deal. I mentioned Mize this summer. Might be worth a look

    Yeah, it really is. I can see an OPS north of 800 for mead. More xtra base hits and hrs.

    I’m looking forward to seeing Mead play in Fenway. Power numbers should take a tick upward like Contreras.

    Seems he’s made some adjustments that have made a big difference. And the analytics nerds say the underlying numbers are repeatable. he’s worth looking into for sure. Seems to be the Sox speed nowadays anyway…

    I agree. if it comes down to it a bat is more of an issue right now. In that case Bello or another reasonable deal would be the number 5.

    Bauers? OF/1b/DH guy puts it all together in his age 29 and 30 seasons. He could be someone they don’t have to spend a ton on and get the power numbers. He only made 2.7m in. 2026.

    Or just get a RHB that can hit both. I mean really, as long as they can hit both arm sides and can hit close to or above 280 with 25 hr I’m good with either side. if they’re pull LH, they’ll need plenty of power.

    It’s depth so as long as it doesn’t cost a lot. We already have Bello for a number 6 and then three after him. I’m not ready to pay three oft injured guys 9m when I have at least 4 depth guys already with one already having MLB rotation experience. id rather let those guys walk, trade a couple others and use that money to resign Gray or another veteran RH starter on his level and sign a bat with some hr power.

    We need power wherever we can get it…if our owner will pay for it. Not sure what LHB are available

    I don’t want retreads. We got rid of a lot of cheap depth in trades. We can do the same except this time trade for them. we don’t need anything special. It’s depth. If there’s something that makes sense other than the names I listed then we need to make that move. If not, well I guess they get another shot

    I haven’t looked around at all the available options out there yet. Like all the names I listed, He’s on the chopping block if there is someone available that makes sense. If not he stays.
