Why should a bunch of guys shooting the sh*t about sports have credibility? We're not 'professional posters'.

You haven't been receiving your checks?

This board pretty much have no credibility.

So many wanted Houck in the pen.

Starting pitching is highly sought after commodity.

You give guys like Houck, Kutter and even Whitlock long leash to see if they can start.

"This board pretty much have no credibility."

Words to take seriously, folks.

One of the rare things we might all agree on, except maybe notin.

Well sure, but for me, the $65K I pick up from here is pretty much a side hustle.

I thought you paid Talksox $65K per year for the privilege to post.

Like paid guys are any better at this.

Pete Abe flipping out over Noah Song being taken in the Rule 5 draft. Everything CHB writes. Tomase's never ending stream of misery.

It's just frustrating. I don't want to log in and have to receive psychic damage. :(

Just the tip of the iceberg.

Tomase’s article over Dalbec playing ONE GAME at shortstop was about the biggest overreaction I’ve ever seen.

In non-baseball coverage, Gerry “Brain Cell” Callahan did write an endless stream of articles promoting Michael Bishop as the superior option to Drew Bledsoe…

What are the odds that Houck takes the ball for over 20 starts this year? That would be a welcome surprise.

I’d take the over at 20, but the under at 30.

I think 26.5 is probably the ideal over/under to make me really think about it…

Relatedly--as I've already said too many times--this year's starting rotation of Bello, Pivetta, Crawford, Whitlock, and Houck are collectively being paid $14M, which is $2M less than Jansen. And it's the rotation, beyond any question, that is carrying this team, now 10-9. The hitting, fielding, and bullpen all stink. Last night Jansen was lucky to give up just the 1 run because he threw nothing but 91-92 mph cutters. Cleveland hit everything hard except the final ground out after Jansen gave up the tying run and blew the save.

FWIW the Seattle Mariners have posted seven straight quality starts but remain under .500 at 9-10, trailing the Red Sox.

It's early.

It's early and it's a crazy game, this baseball.

For example, Oakland is 7-4 in their last 11 and sits in 4th in the AL West, 1 game behind Seattle and ahead of Houston.

Who saw that coming?

20 starts? That seems doable. 25 is much more iffy. 30 is close to zero.

The 4th QB is the most popular guy in town. He can do no wrong.

9th best ERA in baseball.

He had 21 starts and 106 IP last year, an increase of 46 IP from 2022. So I think 150 IP this year is an easy target and 175 IP this year feasible.

He has 4 starts and 26.2 IP this year so far--and thrown 83, 99, 98, and 94 pitches. Those 4 pitch counts suggest he has become way more efficient than in any previous season.

This poster looks forward to seeing the A's host the reigning World Series champion Texas Rangers in a rare scheduled doubleheader May 8 at the much-maligned Oakland Coliseum.;)

He's had one major injury. It's not like he's Whitlock.
