Yeah, 40 homers and 100 RBI on an off-year. And don't forget the 'bad team-mate' mantra, affirmed by the front office but by no player on the team.

I think you misunderstand. I don't care about 'big name' players anymore than ordinary ones. I just don't want productive players to be replaced, with marginally better or cheaper ones. I want to feel that the team I watch this year is more or less the team I followed two years ago, five years ago.

I don't really care about teams, only about the players. That's why, with the constant turnover of the roster, I don't really give a cr*p about the RS, at least, not like I used to when I could name most of the players on the team.

Meanwhile Devers , with a slam last night, is on pace for 40 HR and over 100 RBI. Why can't we get guys like that?

You mean the park that sells out even with crappy teams and that people travel thousands of miles to see, that is familiar to and loved by many of us for well over a half-century and is instantly recognizable to all baseball fans and is far more interesting than the crappy symmetrical stadia of the 70s and that serves as a model for more recent ones? That Fenway Park?

I do like how Tracy goes out to talk to umpires respectfully, even hiding what he is saying, rather than go out with arms flailing like a jackass or a three year old.
