The Bush Push was a legitimate play. Rudy was a pedo. All golden domers go straight to hell. Even Boston College fans can agree with that.

What about the G Men?

You need a passport to get onto other forums, and sports talk shows?

I'm talking about hanging on different corners.

If your corners only involve forums and talk shows, I think you just exposed the truth.

I’ve explained many times that my little corner of the world meant talksox, but you took it as where you lived.

When Sox losses are bumming me out, I come here to vent my spleen, I freely admit it. I get most of my venting done in the morning, right after I get some caffeine in me.

And now I feel better again, and ready to absorb more abuse.

100% wrong, again.

LOL.

Post of the day. If we're all being honest, how many of us would insist we joined this forum as cheerleaders, to gloat in glory and congratulate ourselves for choosing to root for the first MLB team in this century to win four World Series!

While most of the talk has been about the AL East, the AL West now has more teams in the top 6 slots by records than the East.

It's a close race for the division crown:

72-54 TEX

72-55 HOU

71-56 SEA

The next two teams in the WC race are from the AL East, so there is time for some changes to the top 6.

WC Race

76-51 TBR +5

72-55 HOU +1.0

71-56 SEA ---

70-56 TOR -0.5 (-1.5 HOU)

66-60 BOS -4.5 (-5.5 HOU)

Sox +5.5 on Yankees

Sox have 36 games remaining. We need a long winning streak or stretch, and SOON!

There is no reason to give at this time. Four games out of the third wild card is far from insurmountable. I can't believe the odds on fangraphs.

Agreed.

The Yanks had the best odds (0ver 80%) in MLB to make the playoffs, on opening day.

That should tell us something.

Here is why some of us " less sophisticated " fans like Dombrowski : He took over a Sox team that had finished dead last two years running. He saw what the problems were and immediately acted to correct them. No excuses needed. Just smart decisions. He immediately won the A.L. East three consecutive years. That was unprecedented. The Sox have never done that before or since. After being unjustly terminated, he went to Philly. They went to the World Series last year. Currently, they hold the first wild card. Citizens Bank Park is packed every night.

I am a member of that "less sophisticated" group of fans for sure. I have to say so that I am very impressed that this comment didn't rate a special criticism from either or both of notin or moon. dd the great ruiner of all things farm system related. I also am impressed with them both for not commenting. It makes me think that maybe it is time to move forward and look at the current regime as owning what it has done, what it is doing, and where it is going.

Nothing more to say. It's all been said dozens of times.

Always good to see positive results from Whitlock.

I might be the only one here who's going to miss Duvall when he's gone.

We may bring him back, especially if we trade Dugo or Duran.

Plays decent defense and has lots of pop. I've enjoyed the Adam Duvall experience. Too bad he got injured.

What was the analytics on the Whitlock sliding catch? I only saw the highlights. Is he a 2.0 dWAR guy as a pitcher? The next Greg Maddux?

I didn’t see any highlights from last night, because I didn’t watch the post game. I have to rely on the accurate objective accounts from the game thread.Better than the Globe.

I thought of having cereal, this morning, but had toast, instead.

Then again you could have gone for a 3 mile walk like I did.

Just a 1 miler for me. Too f***ing hot down here and the smallest dog can't do much more than that. Plus, I had to get the kids ready for school and figure out what my plan was for posting garbage on this site today.

Best week of the season here in Maine. Low temp, and low humidity. That’s funny, because I never seen any garbage on here.🙈

Meh. It was very much a once in a lifetime thrill because these days defense by pitchers is underemphasized. I can remember regular occasions when ERod was late covering first base on grounders to the right side.

What I loved about Whitlock last night was that he cared enough to give that one play his very best effort. In fact, the first thing he did was point to where the ball was because Wong was mistakenly heading for the infield, away from where the ball was going. Then, when Whitlock realized he had the best chance to get the ball, he sprinted and finally dove to catch it. He really wanted that out in what was a very tight game.

I think Casas tends to be casual about fielding grounders, but on this play he ran quite a distance to maybe catch it, but slowed down when he saw Whitlock was closer.

The greatest Red Sox catch of all time some could say.
