Wonder what the odds would be, if we switched divisions. (and schedules.)

That is just another stale excuse. Deal with reality. Anyway, the N.L. is every bit as tough as the A.L., If not tougher.

FWIW the Red Sox are 19-24 against National League teams, 19-14 against AL East teams, 12-12 against AL West teams and 32-33 against teams with a record above .500:

A stale excuse it is, and I’ve heard it for two years now. Like I’ve said before the Red Sox has been in the same division since divisions came into being, but now the Red Sox haven’t been good enough to compete, so now some want to change to make it easier. If you want it easier get better.

I’ve already said I’m not a cheerleader waving Pom poms when things are going well. It’s just like someone has said that the game threads are longer when things aren’t going well than they are when things are going good. I’m sure posting the WC standings update was on your to do list today. Not! You being under the weather could have been in green. It just amazes me that the fans can turn with what way the wind is blowing like blowing all out against the hapless Yankees, and thinking the Red Sox are on their way now when in the reality they are the same team that lost 2 of 3 in Washington. It’s noticed to how you were so quick to bail last year, and probably will do it again this year if the wind stays blowing in.

In other words, you aren't a fan of the Red Sox. I had two uncles--one from each side of the family--who were both definitely fans and both lived their entire lives in Massachusetts and died about 20 or so year ago. One was usually pretty happy because he was a diehard Yankees fan and enjoyed 26 (or so) of their 27 WS titles. The other, who lived to 90, was there for the entire 86 years of the curse and was a lot like you. He died before John Henry's Sox won their first WS in 2004.

You, however, have been around long enough to see all 4 of the WS wins under John Henry, unquestionably the most successful Sox owner in history. And you are proud to be a skeptic and critic? How is that possible for a real fan?

I just stopped being a baseball fan I guess, because I just don’t like the quality, or the way the game is played today with all this opener, and bullpen game stuff. That’s my opinion, and I stick with it. I still follow what goes on with the Red Sox, but just like earlier in the season when the Bruins, and C’s were in the postseason the Red Sox were put on the back burner. Now football is starting up, and NASCAR is ready to start their playoffs, so back on the back burner goes the Sox. Call that what you want.

Here is why some of us " less sophisticated " fans like Dombrowski : He took over a Sox team that had finished dead last two years running. He saw what the problems were and immediately acted to correct them. No excuses needed. Just smart decisions. He immediately won the A.L. East three consecutive years. That was unprecedented. The Sox have never done that before or since. After being unjustly terminated, he went to Philly. They went to the World Series last year. Currently, they hold the first wild card. Citizens Bank Park is packed every night.

Nobody should be questioning anyone's fandom here.

I don’t have a problem with that. Everyone is entitled to their opinions although you wouldn’t always know it on here.

DD had a fallen out with JH, and it was as simple as that. Well put, and agree on the other.

I'm curious what our odds would be. No excuse intended.

Agreed 1,000,000%. I'm really into the PPA right now because it's just a more modern game. Johns and Waters are just at the top of their game right now. Why follow baseball at all at this point? Boring game!

And yet it happens everyday on here in one form or another.

It's not questioning. It's making a statement of opinion, and sometimes of facts.

Amazing that some can’t take different opinions. Football has always been #1 with me. My #1 professional fan moment was when little Tommy, and the Pats perfect season came to a halt in the 2008 SB. I’m sure you have a different moment. 2004 Red Sox was my number 2.

I'm a Jets, Trojans, Canadians fan. My #1's are far different from yours.

I started out with the Giants, and ND football, because they were on Tv,which I know you are not a fan of.

The Bush Push was a legitimate play. Rudy was a pedo. All golden domers go straight to hell. Even Boston College fans can agree with that.
