Beni may be over valued, but would you rather have Beni,or any of the other OF the Sox have playing right now like the great Franchy C who some on here have raved about the great trade that Bloom had made to acquire him?

I'd rather have Beni that any Sox OFer right now. I'm just saying he's overvalued. He's not what we thought he'd become. He's a fine OFer who has run into a little bit of luck this year to boost his average. If he was able to tap into power, he'd be a perennial all star. He's just not at that level.

I’d rather have Refsnyder.

I’d rather the longer control of Dugo and Duran, and it’s about even on those two counting just the last 2 months of 2022.

I'd take the control of Dugo or Duran, but the actual play itself goes to Beni.

I hope you are joking about Refsnyder as even Cora doesn't play him everyday.

I think Beni is a little overvalued this year. We'll see what he looks like in a different park.

2.0 fWAR to date.

moon has a serious case of Ref Fever.

Related to the Beni trade and just how incompetent Franchy has been as a big leaguer, there is also today's quote: “He’s still learning the position,” Cora said. “He hasn’t played too much at first base … When you don’t play good defense, this is what happens.”

For those who blame Cora for playing Cordero, it doesn't take much to read-between-the-lines in his commentary. This is the roster Bloom has given him. The major leagues are no place for on-the-job training, and no big league manager should ever have to rely on such a concept. Duran in center, Arroyo in right, Franchy anywhere, etc., etc.

It makes sense to keep throwing Duran out in CF. It doesn't make any sense to do that with Cordero at 1b and Arroyo in RF.

I think he is a great fit for the Yankees who don’t need any power from him. A good OF to get on base for the big boys.

It doesn't make sense for Cordero to be playing at all, frankly.

Red Sox, Danny Santana Agree To Minor League Deal

And all of you Bloom supporters(jocks) really thinks he has a clue what he’s doing. Only on here does Bloom get that support, which I don’t know if that is a good thing.

"Only on here". No, that's not really true. I have a Globe subscription, and Bloom is certainly taking a lot of heat there, but he also has his supporters.

It's kind of a joke when someone posts minor transactions like this one and people make a big fuss over it.

No it’s not, because of a minor transaction, but a sum of all the moves, and parts, which at the moment adds up to a laughing stock team who resides in the basement of the AL East. Maybe another part to audition for 1B.

He's 28 next season and doesn't have any remaining upside. Let him go.

I'd consider calling up Mieses and Ronaldo Hernandez to see if their bats can continue to stay hot. Both have hit very well since June 1.

Huh?

I think it's hilarious that he's brining Danny Santana back. Santana has zero professional AB's this year.

And it was Danny Freakin' Santana, which is why I made the font larger. Former Sox get a bigger laugh.

He's a true Bloom guy tho!

Don't worry, fun times are coming.

Post trade deadline Sox wackiness? It's going to be lots of "who are these guys" conversations with my family whenever a Sox game is on later this season.

Mitch 2bags is just sitting at home right now! Please, Bloom!

He did already bring Grullon back.

With Devers out, they need to trade for Yairo Munoz.

He could get Taylor Motter back really cheap...

Just as hilarious as this team is playing, and residing in the basement.

That stuff may be funny in retrospect, but it's not funny now. I think it's easier to laugh at silly MiLB signings.

Maybe Yankee stadium will be his cup of tea. I don't think he was vaccinated though.

Reports are that he's willing to get vaxxed.

And Cora likes his speed, but you can’t steal first base and getting to a ball in the field is useless if you can’t make the play. I am sure he was very cheap.

I think I remember him hitting one homerun and then striking out every other time he was at bat when I watched him in 2021. He may have played a little 1b and OF.

Does it say more about Bloom needing guys after a fire sale or just that Kiké's injury is going to be longer than originally planned?

Anyway, some MiLB guys I follow are stating that Santana is just coming to play in AAA as the AAA OFers are wearing down. Downs is going to be sent down soon as Arroyo is on his way back shortly.
