  1. Looking at the easy fly ball that was dropped by Abreu, Rafaela raises his glove just as Abreu was making catch. I bet Abreu saw that in his peripheral vision and that caused the drop. Yikes, now Weissert.
  2. Yeah, Bloom was wrong (again). The WAR for the top prospect and all the other stiffs we've had at 1B over the last 4 plus years doesn't scratch the numbers Freeman has put up. Hindsight is...worth nothing.
  3. How did that #1 prospect work out at first base? Freeman continues to perform while there have been 19 players at first base for us over 4+ years.
  4. Devers should never been given that contract. He was not a star, he was an average to good player, and not good with the community. The Giants are referring to him as the Reverse Panda and that the Red Sox have gotten revenge for the Pablo Sandoval. https://www.mercurynews.com/2026/05/01/kurtenbach-rafael-devers-is-the-reverse-panda-and-theres-little-reason-to-believe-thatll-change/
  5. Now Suarez is injured. Not sure what happened when he walked off the mound.
  6. This offense is terrible. How does batting Monasterio 5th make any sense? It doesn't. We have one player with 20+ RBIs. The Pirates, yeah, the Pirates, have 4 guys.
  7. The real problem started in November 2020 when the team rehired Cora. They should have moved on.
  8. Two more years in the minors in development would have been best for Anthony. Duran is better but he's been here longer. Only Abreu is competent.
  9. Anthony got an assist from the outfield to end the 3rd, but his arm is a liability.
  10. This has been my issue for a very long time: Hyping players who have never repeated performance year over year, which is the result of salesmen who pitch distraction as big contracts are proffered. We do not have a home run hitter on our team. Anthony looked like a contact doubles guy (sort of like a Boggs) but this year is being pushed to try to hit homers (that doesn't work). He had one big homer last year and everyone hyped as the next coming Ruth and Williams. Focus on contact first. I look at Mayer and his size and think he should be playing 3rd base, not 2nd. Like Anthony, he needs to be focused on contact and the best way is in the minors. Rafaela may have outfield speed, but base stealing and bunting doesn't seem to be his thing. Pitching staffs have adjusted to him. Work on contact. Again, I don't understand these Breslow contracts to the unproven.
  11. The problem with the team is with those responsible for putting the players on the roster, and not with Cora. When a team cannot attract top talent or retain it, or evaluate young talent, and heads don't roll, no coach is safe.
