With all the added travel and wear and tear on pitcher's arms, I'm sold.

However, I'd just get rid of interleague play and go with 10 games against each divisional opponent (5 road/5 home). You'd play a team for 5 straight days and get each of their starters. It's only 140 games for now (they still want to add 2 teams which would push the regular season to a clean 150 games), but you could push the regular season back a few weeks so that It's not snowing in some ballparks and actually have it end in September rather than October.

I like the 5 game series idea. That would take away some of the luck factor on which pitchers you face vs each team.

It might complicate the days off on Mondays and Thursdays, but maybe they just take a day off from time to time, in the middle of a 5 game series to get thye cycle back to playing every FRI, SAT & SUN.

I know that I am in the minority but I hate inter league play. I would love to see a schedule like that proposed above.

But that idea (which is excellent) would cost the league money, so it would never happen.

The two most emotional pitchers in MLB going head to head.

As always will this be a Sale Day, or a For Sale Day?

I'm not dead set on either way, but I do think getting the schedule as close to balanced as possible is fairer.

Lessening rivalry games is a big downside, to me.

I know rivalry games make more money, but I do think playing different teams would open up new revenue streams. Fans do travel to away games.

Oh man, I hope you are in the minority. I love watching national league teams, and then we get gems like RS/Dodgers. Who wouldn't want to see Ohtani and Betts in Fenway? (I mean, besides John Henry).

Inter league play was annoying when the leagues played under different rules, which itself was a stupid situation. It’s more acceptable now…

Every day is a For Sale Day for some.

Let me rephrase the above as: Every day is a Freakin' For Sale Day!

Loved it now, and loved it then. Watching a pitcher stand in who hadn't seen serious pitching since HS was GOLD! But yes, I'm happier now with the DH universal.

I hate it. I liked when things like the All Star Game and the World Series felt special because you'd never see those players face off otherwise.

Baseball isn't fair. It's entertainment. Why would I give up being entertained through playing all teams in the league, just because some bean-counter thinks IT'S NOT FAIR. Who gives a crap? Do we really want to return to the days when you couldn't see Pete Rose or Aaron or Willie Mays or Stan or Bob Gibson but you COULD see whatever cellar-dweller you had in your league or division 18 or 50 times a season?

That's a good point. In the old days there were stars you would never, ever get to see play in Fenway.

Who would you want to see now? Mookie, the Big O?

And they slowly started to kill baseball by introducing interleague play and letting the All Star Game end in a tie.

First, it was a dumb idea to put the DH in one league only. What other sports have that king of major rule changes between leagues and conferences? Can you imagine if the NFC dropped punting and you could only punt in AFC stadiums? Or if the Western Conference in the NBA allowed 6 players on the court? It’s one sport!

But more important, pitchers stopped taking hitting seriously a long time ago. And if they got on base, they put on a jacket! Basically saying “yeah I’m on base. Not sure how, but know this - I’m not going to even try out here.” And then they f***ing jogged!!

Universal DH all the way. And with it, I am much more accepting of inter league play…

The All Star Game did used to be a real big deal that both sides wanted badly to win. Now it’s just a meaningless exhibition game if that.

The All Star game was created to finance a pension fund for retired players.

Sure it’s a meaningless exhibition, and may it stay that way forever. Worst idea ever was to link it to WS home field.

Now it’s just pro players having fun. I’m fine watching that. And outside of the stupid WS home field idea, it was dumb for players to ever take this one game seriously, because want to win or not, it was still a meaningless exhibition back then…

If players aren't going to take it seriously, it won't matter to the fans. It mattered to the players back in the day and it mattered to the fans. Why kill something that was cool?

Elon is blasting s*** off down here on the regular. I'm sure he can just add some of our personal gripes onto his schedule.
