You're missing a lot o the backstory though. We spent YEARS litigating whether or not to trade JBJ every year. When he was finally gone, it was like a veil had been lifted on the forum. When Bloom brought him back, it was just all so confusing due to the layers of conversations we had over the years.

I'd be like Henry bringing Bloom back next season as Sam's Assistant.

Thanks for filling me in, and setting me straight.

The good 2020 Covid season got some hopes up in some.

either is bust

I kinda agree, but Stroman is better than Clevinger and Paxton, combined.

Think what you want about him, but he's started 25+ games all three of the last seasons.

3.45 ERA (122 ERA+)

3.60 FIP (1.18 WHIP)

Last 5 years:

3.38 ERA (126 ERA+)

3.63 FIP (1.22 WHIP)

This is way better than anything we have and on paper, looks better than many of the guys many of us have been suggesting.

Gio & Stroman are better than nothing, but still falls way short of what i had hoped for.

in case you haven't noticed I want NO part of Stroman. . still a last place team even with him--save the money

Oh, I noticed.

If you lived next to Scherzer 20 years ago, you'd probably feel the same way.\

LOL

Not a chance. I’d rather sign Paxton or Clevinger than Stroman. None of them will make much of a difference anyway but Henry might consent to a 1yr deal if they are still available before ST starts and the price is low enough

In a vacuum I don’t hate Clevinger, but it’s just the same old same old song of not willing to go big and hang with top dogs.

Can Brez or AC convince Henry to chip in some, to make sure Snell goes to NY?

The only reason to want Snell on the Yankees is his contract could be prohibitive. So why would the Sox want to take that part of it away?

A prohibitive cost is one you can't actually pay. Unfortunately doesn't apply to the Yanks.

Drop in the draft?

I suppose, as the RS head for another last-place finish, we should all be celebrating that we didn't overpay anyone to get there.

and that's what it's all about. to Henry anyway.

The goal has been lowered to trying to finish in 4th place without spending. Until we do that, Breslow gets no more money to try for 3rd place, the following season.
