Is there any other sport if you fail 7 out of 10 times your considered to be doing good?

Fail 7 out of 10 = good

Fail 8 out of 10 = very bad

Duvall broke his wrist. Its a tough injury to recover from quickly. If he does not need surgery, cast for 6-8 weeks then rehab. My bet is it'll be a 10-12 week injury for recovery, but it might take til the very end of the season to see him back to his peak performance

Thanks for the update......MassLive still has no update on his injury. Ugh....

Since it's the same wrist, I'd guess more than 12.

Yes, Steve Adams reports it's broken:

Red Sox center fielder Adam Duvall has been diagnosed with a distal radius fracture in his left wrist, manager Alex Cora announced to reporters Monday (Twitter link via Ian Browne of MLB.com). He’ll be placed on the 10-day injured list for now, with the expectation that he’ll miss several weeks of action. The team does not yet have an exact timetable for his expected recovery. Infielder Bobby Dalbec is up from Triple-A Worcester in place of Duvall, and utilityman Rob Refsnyder is slated to start tonight’s game in center field.

In a lot of soccer games nobody scores at all!

Golf is not a sport. It’s a waste of time hobby and an excuse to wear plaid pants…

That's what guys who can't play usually say.

The best hitters in baseball don't fail 7 out of 10 times anyway. Ted Williams had an OBP of .482, so he only failed about half the time.

That happens a lot in ice fishing, too. But not many guys drinking cold beer outside in the winter seem to care.

Drowning is a clear-cut failure, though.

These old schoolers don't count walks as success.

Reminds me of the Norm Macdonald joke on cliff diving: There are only two results in cliff diving; Grand champion or stuff on a rock.

I golfed one time in my life. By Hole 8, I was praying to be struck by lightning…

Ice fishing isn’t a sport. It’s a hiding place for guys with miserable marriages…

It's a place to drink, where your wife won't hunt you down.

Good outing by Pivetta. Winckowski continue to impress.

Whitlock next up. We'll need to score couple of runs for him.

Pivetta has a new/better breaking ball this year which really works.

Also Sale has a cut fastball that’s more effective than his fastball. The cutter, slider, and his good changeup are his strength.

Sox lineup is fine against weak pitching and supine against good pitching. Devers got screwed in that one at bat, but also looked awful in the one with bases loaded. Story and Duvall on the IL does not help.

Good, or bad Pivetta shows up every 5th day. Last night was the good Pivetta. Still not sold on Sale, but at least he’s healthy. Tampa should be a good test.

Offense not firing on all cylinders, and with Duvall out most have got to pick it up. Turner has little , or no production, Casas for the most part has looked more suspect than prospect. Yoshida has more walks, and getting on by errors than hits, and needs to hit less ping pong balls to the IF. Nothing from Arroyo’s bat, and Wong his not going to give you much either. Kike has pretty much sucked all the way around, and his bat has for two years now. Ten games in, and I’m still not panicking, but these next few weeks present a tougher schedule.

4 games in Tampa is a test alright. Kind of like 4 days in the Gulag is a test.

These Rays are always doing better than what most pundits think they'll do.

They have ex GMs and staff all over the league, but why is it so hard to emulate their system- or steal some key personnel away?

Because the most important guy to steal away is Kevin Cash…

Cash seems to be a first-rate manager, but as far as I know he's not the guy who keeps constructing an upper tier roster on a lower tier budget.

I was thinking more in line with their key scouting and developing people. Their GMs and managers seem to come and go, seamlessly.

The animals should have guns too. Then it would be sport.

Only -- as the rules clearly state -- if they're part of a well-regulated militia.

Except grizzlies... whose bear arms shall not be infringed.

But he is the guy who gets the most out of them.

Everyone who makes the majors already possesses an elite level of talent most of us can’t relate to. But maybe it’s enough for Cash to work with…
