Dodger Stadium is even more of a HR friendly park than Sacramento. We'll see if the Sox bats can stay hot (5th in HR since July 4th).

Part of the reason LA is a homer haven is that the Dodgers have home run hitters -- 6 guys with 12 or more, compared to 3 for Boston.

But then the Red Frauds are suddenly the antithesis of the modern 3 True Outcome Offense: last in the league in longballs, second to last in bases on balls, but get this, Hunter Goodman fans... only 3 AL teams have less strikeouts!

We need more bunts and hit by pitches; inhumane sacrifices to exercise extra-inning ghosts -- keep running Sox, counter-clockwise to all that's sacred... or is that scared... sacredodgerbleu!

Park factors aren't solely calculated based on how many home runs are hit at a ballpark, but in comparison to how players play elsewhere. This means the visiting team are hitting more home runs at Dodger Stadium too.

The home/away splits were nasty for the pitching staff last season (almost 2 to 1 HR at home).

This is the great hope for a Hunter Goodman deal -- Career Home Runs: 38 Home, 38 Away.

A Rockies unicorn. Usually, the argument is "well, he still has a good OPS away." When I've looked, all the big names had huge splits and then fell off after leaving COL.

This series is going to be a test of how good this team really is, and to see if they can keep the momentum going.  Just please don't get swept.

Even if they get swept, it's 20-7 since July 1. Crazy. Their best chance to win is either tonight or Sunday.

If they take 2/3 from LA I'm further on board with this 2026 team, 1/3 has me cautiously optimistic, getting swept has me hopeful still, sweeping the Dodgers would fill my head full of grandeur dreams for the 2026 post season.

Looks like Jovani, Tyron Whitlock for last 3 innings

I'd say roll the dice with Bello tomorrow....let him pitch until the arm falls off.

Pull the trigger, 3 years of a 26 year old PROVEN right handed power hitter for a player who hasn't been in the majors. He played in the outfield as well as catcher. Just don't let him play in that stupid pre season nonsense called the WBC.

Let's pretend this is the WS Game#1 after Boston incredibly worked its way through 3 AL series , never scoring in the first 6 innings of any game but always hitting multiple HRs very late. Pitching always giving up 1 less run than the support from its hitters.

Now comes reality, so good luck to the guys tonight.

I'm in zero way against Goodman, but people should just be prepared for the upgrade in the bat to be slightly offset by a big hit to the defense behind the plate.

It depends on who he's replacing. If he's replacing Wong, it's probably a lateral move.

True, but Narvaez has literally only played something like 5 games more than Wong, they’ve been splitting time 50/50.  Unless you’re DHing him a lot then hypothetically you’re playing a lot more in the field.  If that’s the case it’s not so lateral.  If Wong stays then it’s certainly not lateral

It’s likely not happening. The Rockies will want a king’s ransom for him starting but not ending with Arias.

Once again I have to say this simple chart is hugely informative.  Thanks.

Not making predictions, but if we take 2 of 3 at LAD, would the non believers flip?

😁  I don't know about believing but do think this has already been a terrific season.  Best hitter and best pitcher on the IL for 3 months already.  Breslow makes a smart deal for a good righty bat and he gets his wrist fractured on his 2d at bat.  Story and Yoshida, pricey carryovers from Chaim Bloom era, not helping much.

What I think we are seeing is that Breslow's approach works even when things go awry.  You can't have too much good pitching.  You can lose Devers and Bregman and still have a lineup.  Despite Monasterios's recent shenanigans, good defense helps good pitching.  Fires Cora @ 10-17 (37%) and replaces him with Chad Tracy with a 47-34 record (58%).   And my goodness what a change in Bello (9.2 IP worth).

Getting the Dodgers feed. Hersheiser already has the Sox losing tonight. Fk that arrogant A-hole.

Well he's probably right. And an A Hole. I don't think the Flops will be favored in any of the three games.

The Dodgers are an example, maybe THE example, of why baseball needs a salary cap.

You continue to be a jerk. Too bad there's no vaccine for that.
