you are right but if the sox eat the Duran and story salary they could get maybe Goodman from Colorado, goodman played of but he could DH or IB, he isn't that good a catcher but he might be to sometimes also there has to be a team that has a star in the making they can't sign that would take Duran and story for free...

I agree, Lowe will help in 2027 and lets worry about 2028 after next season, there aren't many offense on the free agent market and Lowe should be the target. for next season...they can't go into next season without adding some power

of course, none of them are going to say anything...especially tracy, he is just happy to have a job in the show....all he knows how to say is "yes sir"...I am sure he doesn't have any say on his coaches either

yandy Diaz has a vesting option, Brandon Lowe (should be at the top of the red sox want list), sonny grey, Tyler Mahle contreras, abreu, adley, Anthony, Lowe......is not too bad as long as they are healthy of course

I really am surprised by the acceptance of mediocrity on this board and defending Anthony. He has proved NOTHING at the major league level. Sal Stewart, a rookie of the year in the national league, played 162. That is a ballplayer. Anthony cashes checks and hangs out at bars in Boston while on the IL. The more we accept champagne showers for a mediocre season and getting blown out by the evil team in New York Henry will continue down this path. Keep Tolle and Crochet. get rid of Story and Duran. use the rest to get real everyday ballplayers instead of bench players.

I don't understand the "settling" mentality. This season was a failure. John Henry is happy because he made a ton of money. Breslow is happy because his bench players made it interesting for a few months. The millionaire players are happy popping their champagne after a loss. The fans get another failed embarrassing beating handed by the f***ing bronx *******s. The RedSox need full time professional ballplayers. Spend money! Start with Brandon Lowe at 2nd base and put Arias at short. I don't care what they do with Story or Duran but they have no job in Boston next year.

well contreras is the only offensive player to have any kind of a season and he just strikes out now, the rest were streaky at best

Anthony is a genius, he has money so he doesn't ever have to work and he has done nothing to deserve it, good for him, invest it well young man

HA, I wish they had half the offense they had in 2004, the lineup tonight has 3 bench players including the leadoff hitter, a bunch of mediocre players and a guy who hasn't hit in weeks....

wow, the utility players sure did enjoy popping that champagne after a loss to the Rays to back door into the playoffs, I guess they were proud of what they accomplished and figured the season was over a real professional ball club taught them what a real team looks like last night the sox looked like minor leaguers, a mediocre season should never be celebrated Anthony and the rookies are a bust, the trade deadline was a bust...we are stuck with Duran and story and sub par players that will be on the IL next year

I would have preferred signing Alonso over Suarez looking back on the season. Suarez was not dependable at all. Going into New York for the wild card, I would rather have Alonso over Suarez.

probably unlikely they will blow a 4 game lead with 6 left, however they are playing two teams that are still fighting for something, also they probably won't let tolle or the other starters go too far in the games, starting position players will rest too probably
