Fk the high draft pick. It's a crap shoot for crap teams.

Wrongaybe it’s a crapshoot between # 10 and # 15, but getting a top five pick has a higher likelihood of choosing a player with more talent than a #20.
So LOSE BABY LOSE!

You really don't get how the MLB draft works, do you.

He also thinks if fans don’t go to Fenway, Henry will start spending again.   As opposed to, you know, using low attendance as a reason not to spend…

No one could have drawn up the 8th, and 9th innings last night, but even then the Red Sox could only muster 2 runs against the Rockies CY Staff. Whitlock, and Chapman looked like they were throwing batting practice last night.🤮

You realize the difference between the first and last draft position is one player total.  One player is not going to fix this team, since what's wrong with the team is not what's on the field.  And dumping productive players (Chapman) is not going to solve it either.

It would take years and years and years for attendance to really dip to the point where it impacted any decision making anyway considering how strong attendance has been.

NO! This is a team that’s 14 games under 500.🙈

IDK how anyone could feel anything when watching this team. Wins and losses are irrelevant at this point.

Agree with that, and as I said the other day the Red Sox are doing the Limbo Rock, and it’s just a question of how low can they go. It can’t get much lower. They are tied with the fewest wins, but give credit where credit is due that those two other teams have played a few more games.

Get hit over the head enough times until all the nerve endings are dead and it's hard to feel anything anymore.

Whether they become the worst team in MLB or struggle back to .500 by September, it just doesn't matter to me. This team is unfun. A lot of bad off the field stuff. The offense is unwatchable. The FO is unlikeable.

Feeling like 2011 Marc Savard right now.

That’s why I’ve heard some fans say that want the Red Sox to lose, because of JH, Sam, and Brez.

I never root for the owners. I don't want the team to lose though. That's rooting against MY interests! I want to be happy! I want to enjoy baseball! This team is just a slog though.

I was at work and will watch the game today but why in Gods name did Tracy take Bennett out after 74 pitches 4 hits 0 runs and 9 ks?? Kid could have had a couple more ips? I hope to God Tracy is not one of these absolute idiots that just take guys out after 80 pitches cause it’s the third time through the line lineup and the analytics suggest it.. Cause I’ll just stop watching this team altogether.

we all know that even Theo has mentioned how Breslow relies too much on analytics.

His season high is 86 pitches. I think they have him on a strict innings limit/pitch count as he hasn't thrown more than 75 innings in a pro season before. He's a post-TJS guy (rehabbed last season) so it's fair to take it a little easy on him one more season.

I know it looked bad how things ended up last night, but only scoring 2 messily runs in Coors Field against that pitching was an issue too.

Gotcha! That’s a good reason and I wasn’t aware of his past arm issues. I was hoping it wasn’t another analytics nonsense. Ok, I’m good. Thanks

It would have made no difference last night.  Guerrero came in for the 7th and set the Rockies down 1-2-3.  Bennett could not have improved on that.  Formula all year has been get the game to Whitlock and Chapman for the 8th and 9th.  That happened and both were terrible.

Worst game of the year.

Another fine outing by Whitlock. Closer in 2027? We're in serious trouble. He had one good year. His first year.

Let’s say it dipped significantly enough the rest of this season.  Which course of action is more likely?

A.  “Attendance is falling. We need to invest more heavily in team payroll and gain back public interest by improving the team.”

B. “Attendance is falling.  We need to slash payroll, raise ticket prices, and purchase a Taiwanese badminton with the money we save.”
