  1. Then you’d complain that he took a hittable pitch. He’s gotten the job done almost every time this year. Contrary to expectations, sometimes these guys fail.
  2. He got hit in the hand in his second AB. Stayed in to run but it swelled up big time. Did not look good. How’s the heat in St. L? I know the heat index was 124 yesterday and in the 110s today. Kinda hot to go to a game, but then I played golf today and the heat index was 112 here in the Quad Cities.
  3. He’s got 4 sacs this season, second on the team. He’s normally gets them down.. A 100+ mph fastball is a tough pitch to bunt.
  4. Might have gotten tagged on the elbow. Too close to overturn the call.
  5. Very poor AB; all he needed to do was roll one over
  6. Cease is fully capable of being that dominant multiple times a season. This kid is not, but any pitcher at the major league level is capable of doing it. How often they do it is what separates the great from the good from the average from the poor.
  7. Doesn’t matter what his ERA is up to tonight. What matters is how he’s throwing tonight, and that sweeper has had a ton of movement on it. This is an abnormal game from him but those can happen.
  8. Or maybe the Cardinals could have taught Darrell Porter or Jack Clark how to catch a foul pop up for what would have been the first out; that changed the inning as well. The Cards also still had a game 7 they could have won. They didn't even show up. A year later, the Sox lost a World Series game 6 in horrific fashion but managed to play a competitive 7th game.
  9. Sox now with 22 sac bunts on the season. That’s 2 more than 2024 and 2025 combined.
  10. Seigler for now. Longer term , perhaps they have had it with Mayer?
