If they do get him -- any time more than a minute before the actual deadline -- expect the cost to be a lot more painful than Yorke and Paulino...

BTV suggests Luis Perales as a good match.

A better pickup than Jansen IMO.

Turner was playing for Toronto today in Baltimore. He had a hit. They pulled him out of the game. He might be on his way to Fenway .

He hasn’t had that good a year this year as last year, but coming back to Fenway for a couple of months in a postseason race might have rejuvenated him.

I believe he meant that Turner would be coming to Fenway with Seattle.

I know he did, but I had mentioned earlier that to me JT would have better pickup for a RHB than Jansen, and that’s what I was commenting on.

Breslow has me scared when talking about Priestner who we just traded for 'he misses bats {20 k's in 31.2 IP} and keeps the ball on the ground" 7 HR'S allowed in those 31.2 innings

If Kenley's pitching and Danny's catching, the SOX will have a battery of Jansen & Jansen. That's kinda cool.

want to know something cooler Splinter? Sox have a suspended game with the Jays on Aug 25th. The 1st batter for the Jays was scheduled to be Danny Jansen ! Can he hit for the Jays in that spot and then hop over to the Sox dugout.

Can I call a friend?

Knowing the fragile history of the SOX, by Aug 25th Danny could be on the IL.

You already used that help.

But you can ask the audience.

You're right and the friend was no help, although he did voice his opinion that Love's FOREVER CHANGES was the best album of the '60's.

It certainly did not look like an overpay by the Cards to get Fedde, who has another year of control at just$7.5M.

They added Pham and gave up just Edman for both.

if Turner can get to Fenway in time he could play in 2 MLB games the same day

Joel Youngblood once had hits for two teams in one day. He got a hit for the Mets in an afternoon game vs the Cubs; an inning later he was traded to the Expos, got to their night game in Philadelphia and got a hit for Montreal.

Turner did have a hit for the Jays earlier today.

Always a good idea to pick up a batter when he's hot.

The White Sox got very little in return…

Maybe Fedde is not as good as his numbers look, but he is not expensive and throws innings.

Flaherty and Taillon have another year of control, so if we get one of them, the Fedde "miss" would be okay, but the looks bad for Brez.

RHB Ahmed from TBR to LAD (.789 v LHPs)

Innings

153 at 2B

152 at RF

99 at 3B

91 at SS

RHB Lane Thomas from WSH to CLE (.922 v LHPs in 2024.)

647 innings in RF/ 20 in CF

The list gets shorter, but then again, maybe the buyer list is shortening, too.

I think bres-slow needs a couple more trades for more prester types

So far Breslow has followed the company line perfectly. he has add a couple of pieces we need [sP and RH bat] that didn't cost a lot of $$ and we added a young P prospect. what else were you expecting?

it's not about my expectations. I no longer have any for Sox management.

I called out Brez, specifically on the Fedde miss, but it might be on JH for refusing even $7.5M for 2025 on his deal.

The FO is a sham, and I expect nothing. I will continue believing this, if and until they give me reason to stop.

I have, however, not lost hope a change might come.

Unless something unexpected and unusual happens tonight/tomorrow , this deadline just reinforces that the Red Sox ownership and FO philosophy will be to control costs, take few if any chances, develop from within and hope for the best a year or two out.

This franchise will NOT try to buy its way to a dominant team. Breslow was neither a buyer nor seller despite any prior claims, barring a big deal in the next 18 hours.

there may be a few on this site that still believe JH gives a s*** about the team he owns. I'm NOT one of them.
