This is what happens when you field a team full of fragile flowers. You then spend big on another fragile flower. You don’t address the biggest issue on the team. You trade for a shitload of fragile flowers and deplete your farm. And then all the fragile flowers get hurt. Cashman has to go. He took a front running, top of the line team at the deadline and went “all-in” on second rate guys who were either hurt on arrival (Bader, Montas) or got hurt right away. He has to go

How about a Bloom to go with those fragile flowers?

All this fragile glut has been pointed out over and over. You are a Yankee fan, so I don't blame you for feeling confident in March, but you and others, including Sox fans "drank the Kool-Aid" on the Yankee projections. Now that what was always there has become obvious, changes need to be made.

Boone and Bloom both drive the GM trend of acquiring damaged goods. Antique cars sell cheaper if they need restoration.

The problem is a lot of them sit in garages too long waiting for the proper parts.

The Yankees also made a mistake in recent years by becoming too right handed. The formidable Yankee teams of the past always had more balance in the lineup , with plenty of left handed pop.

As bad as things are now it's still only one month of the season. And for as bad as things have looked its not like the team has totally cratered (.500 isn't good but considering the injuries not sure we could've expected a lot better). The division being so good makes it harder to cope with. I can't say I'm overly optimistic considering the lineups they've been trotting out there on a daily basis but I've learned from prior seasons that things generally aren't as good (Rays/O's) or bad as they seem in April.

Yankee fan: "Our GM neglected the lineup!"

Red Sox fan: "Our GM neglected the rotation!"

Excerpt their GM spent $400mill on a 31yo right fielder. Not really neglect…

I didn't mean to imply Yankee fans are correct in their criticisms.

$360 mill to be exact. But you know how fans are. Judge wasn't an addition, just a very expensive retention.

Willie Calhoun in the lineup on a daily basis, now that's a head-scratcher.

It’s not really a head scratcher; he was like 5th on the depth chart and they got there fast.

And the charge was neglect; letting Judge go was only arguably neglect. Certainly keeping him wasn’t…

You're being way too rational about this.

Judge is also going to be a legacy Yankee, someone who's number will be retired.

The Yanks couldn't hit last year. They retained Judge and Rizzo and added s*** else to the roster. Now Judge, Stanton, Donaldson, etc are out. Bader just got back. The kids might be fine, but you cannot thrust them into roles where they are counted on yet. Too early in their careers.

I think it's safe to say the Yankees have more money on the IL right now than any team in history-by a lot in fact.

Some of that was their own undoing. Judge has spent nearly one-third of the season (or more) on the IL three times in the previous six years. Stanton can’t stay healthy. Adding Rondon to those two was basically asking for that honor…

Stanton is also an unqualified idiot, who inflicts injuries on himself.

Yup. Judge is more likely to stay healthy than Stanton or Rodon, but isn't the safest bet in the world.

It might be time to consider selling. This team is too hurt to continue

The Yankees are ONE GAME out of the playoff picture!!

It’s not their current standing. They’re injured and not getting better anytime soon. They just lost Bader again. Rodon had another setback. Trivino just had TJS.

1. One game out.

2. Bader, Trivino and Rodon have combined to appear in two games this year. Yet still one game out.

3. Who exactly are you going to sell? The only pending free agents on the team not wearing slings are Wandy Peralta and IKF. Not much of a firesale…
