  1. Can you guys win a damn game to keep the Rays off of our ass??? Geez..
  2. Tough break for JD since he was finally getting some consistent playing time in the big leagues. No concussion at least, but sprained shoulder so he will probably be out all month. Now Spencer Jones gets to show what he can do. Massive power but also massive K rates. Good fielder and good speed. Best case scenario for him is probably a Joey Gallo type of career. More likely to be a good fielding 4th outfielder who can hit some dingers.
  3. Last season everyone thought the Yanks got fleeced when Narvaez was hitting well and Elmer Rodriguez was still in the minors. Well ER is making his big league debut for the Yanks this afternoon, so by end of this season we should be able to weigh the outcome of this trade a little better.
  4. Fortunately I don't get that station in NYC. Watching these two games, I assume your lack of offense has been the biggest issue this year. Looking at your lineup, you don't have any star hitter but I see four players who will probably end up above average [comfortably above 100 wrc] (Anthony, Duran, Abreu, Contreras), three who should be around average (Story, Yoshida, Rafaela), and three youngsters who are a bit of an unknown at this point (Narvaez, Mayer, Durbin). I'm certainly grateful for your early hitting struggles but I don't foresee this group hitting this poorly forever. My guess is that the Sox finish somewhere between 10-15th offensively by end of the year.
  5. How to fix 2026 Red Sox? Have you tried turning them off and on again?
  6. Let's hope the lame play continues while we're in town! The first baseball game I have distinct memory of attending is the one where Pedro gave up a bomb to Chili Davis in the first inning, and then threw a no hitter the rest of the game. That sealed my hate for the Sox for the next 30 years.
  7. Good pitching matchup today (at least on paper). How have you all been liking Suarez so far?
  8. They have quite an early hole to climb out of. I guess the only positive for them is that there's still 150+ games to do so. Fangraphs has dropped their odds of winning the division from 24% at the beginning of the season to 11% now, and playoff odds from 61% at the beginning of the season to 42% now.
  9. It's only 10 games so far and they could easily turn it around, but if not then how much more losing do you think Boston would need to do for them to fire Cora? If they start like 4-10, or 8-20?
  10. It's only two series so far, but Fangraphs has already shifted their preseason prediction for Boston from finishing 2nd in the ALE with 85 wins to finishing 4th with 83 wins. Probably more indicative of how tight they think the ALE will be this season that 2 wins would swing their position in the division that much.
  11. They went undefeated while I was on vacation and unable to watch a single inning. I came back yesterday and stayed up until almost 1am to watch them get walked off. I think I need to take more vacations...
  12. True, but I'll take a .769 OPS while he is slumping!
  13. Judge still has a .769 OPS though 😎
  14. Yankees are currently #1 in runs scored per game while also allowing the fewest runs in the league
  15. I don't expect a repeat of last season from Grisham, BUT if he does come close to last year's performance then $20M for one year will look pretty good.
  16. Yep, the Yankees go as Judge goes (at least offensively). I'm pretty bullish on our rotation though (barring health per usual). The Yanks should have enough above average starters to hold things down while Rodon/Cole/Schmidt return from the IL.
  17. There are still a lot of unsafe areas in Brooklyn, mostly eastern Brooklyn. I moved to Queens about seven years ago (Long Island City), but I'm right next to the Pulaski Bridge so I walk into Brooklyn all the time to get food in Greenpoint/Williamsburg. And you're not wrong - everything is expensive. Mexican places charge like $5 per taco, a plain pizza pie is like $25 - $30, and grocery costs are absurdly high to the point where I walk out with a small bag of stuff and I've spent like 50 bucks!
  18. That's a secret. And if Brooklyn is a slum then the Bronx is a wasteland!
  19. Bad managing? Offense no showing in a big game?? Judge saying 'We'll get em next time'??? Now I'm ready for the 2026 Yankees season!!
