Every team has up and downs. Good teams and bad teams. You can say they went xx-xx for just about any team. To meh Cabrera is pretty crazy. Oswaldo imo if he played a full season in the of could be the 2nd best of behind judge between the yankees and red sox. He's got great defense and his bat is solid and he has some untapped power points. He may not be a hall of fame but he's exactly the kind of guy the yankees need.

Cabrera has looked pretty good, agreed.

I'm biased, but in any ranking of Yankee/Red Sox players right now after Judge, I think I'd take Raffy Devers next.

I think he was talking about outfielders, but if not, I'm with ya.

Trivino elbow strain. Kahnle bicep tendonitis. Da fuq?

Hard to believe you’re being shocked at Rodon and Kahnle being injured after calling Paxton’s injury predictable…

The Sox OF might be getting dumped on here.

I’m not wild about Duvall in CF, but he is a Gold Glove winner who could easily prove me wrong.

Alex Verdugo is less than 3 years older than Cabrera and infinitely more accomplished than the 170PA/70 innings in the OF career totals for the Yankee LF.

Yoshida is certainly a question, but does come with a legitimate hitting track record overseas in probably the best foreign league.

It’s not a stretch to see Cabrera ranking 5th (Or 6th! Don’t sleep on Bader!) among these two teams’ outfielders…

You're serious?

Shoulder surgery in 2017. TJS in 2019. Non-tendered in 2020. During ChiSox playoff run in 2021 he had shoulder soreness that put him on the IL in August and had more soreness at the end of September after coming off the IL ("We're concerned." - Tony LaRussa). He only pitched 2.2 innings in his lone playoff start in 2021.

Since 2017:

GS IP

96/543 Rodon

87/469 Paxton

Shocking differential, here, right?

Shocking that Jax is missing some of the factual information!

LOL, since 2017! That's f***ing stupid and you know it. Ridiculously dumb, well below you

What's wrong with since 2017? What time period would you use?

OK...

2018-2022

474 Rodon 95 IP/yr

333 Paxton 67 IP/yr

2019-2022

353 Rodon 88 IP/yr

172 Paxton 43 IP/yr

Something to brag about.

He'd use 2017, if it suited his point.

BTW, ERA since 2017:

3.43 Rodon

3.69 Paxton

How about the last 2 seasons. Seriously, you guys are just ridiculous.

OK, forget the comparison with Paxton. The fact is that 2022 was the first time Rodon had put in a full season since 2016. One season doesn't put injury concerns to rest.

You ignoring the injury history of a guy simply because of their uniform is ridiculous.

Trivino - injured

It's ridiculous to arbitrarily choose the last 2 years and discard any meaning to the last 3,4, 5, or 6 years.

You know damn well, many players have brief (from 1 month to 2 years) moments of glory and health.

Plus, you act like 310 IP in these last 2 years is something to be wow'd by.

It's NOT!

There is a real chance he gets hurt, again, or moves his performance level back towards his pre-2021 years.

BTW, you do know Paxton had exactly 310 IP from 2018 to 2019, but people still knew he was injury prone, including you.

Why is this any different?

You just want to believe he won't get hurt.

It's almost like the baseball gods are punishing the Yankees for not parting ways with Cash...

Tony:

Another Rob Roy, Bishop?

Bishop:

You never ask a navy man if he'll have another drink, because it's nobody's goddamned business how much he's had already.

Judge Smails:

Wrong, you're drinking too much your Excellency.

Bishop:

Excellency, fiddlesticks, my name's Fred and I'm a man, same as you.

Judge Smails:

You're not a man, you're a bishop, for God's sakes.

Bishop:

There is no God...

As always, injuries will play havoc with even the best laid plans. It is usually frowned upon to gloat at another team's injuries while moaning about your team's sick list.

No GM is as consistent as Cashman
