They had already announced Bogaerts wouldn't be traded long before the deadline.

They could have chosen this as the lie of the week.

If Bloom actually used fan outrage as a reason not to make a practical move, THAT is a bigger cause for concern. You can't listen to the fans, they don't know squat and more than half of them are drunk at any given time.

(yes, I am quite aware of the irony, thank you)

That was my point all along. They ended up crying anyway.

Not good enough to get under the cap or nobody would take on salary?

Asking for too much talent in return, reportedly.

And fans who wanted a fire sale cried the loudest, and are still crying.

Basically, the crybaby fan argument some clown espoused, earlier.

Not from the fans, but from the media. Henry didn't want to get dragged over the coals.

If we're really going down this rabbit hole again...the 2022 team was 3 games out of the playoffs at the deadline with a bunch of guys expected back from the IL. They told the fans the goal was to compete every year. A fire sale in that situation would not have gone over well with a lot of people. Bloom had to choose which set of crybabies to piss off.

After the deadline, yes, but we were quickly overtaken by winter.

But you're crying still about what might have been if the fire sale happened.

Nobody disputes many fans would have been pissed or crybabies, but all of them still got pissed and or cried, anyway.

I doubt the crybabies feelings were a major reason for not trading JD and others but I do think keeping fans happy is part of the equation- a part they have failed miserably at since 2019.

Yes, I’m still crying about how crybaby fans kept us from getting better draft picks, improving the farm with prospects and maybe letting 2023 be year one of going over the tax line not 2022.

What's done is done. Continuing to cry about it is pretty pointless.

Skimming through the recent posts, I thought you guys were talking about Bloom almost crying at the airport, staring at his cellphone in shock when he discovered Bogaerts signed with SD.

Of course, that tableau was described by a few media members who only hours before were assured by front office people that Xander was staying in Boston...

... perhaps it was all just posturing for the press.

The media is even dumber and even drunker than the fans thoug. You can't do things b ased on what the media might think. Let them stew in their own sewage.

We’d be a much better team, if Bloom listened to the “right” crybabies.

And instead of going over and trying to get into the playoffs, they went over, didn't improve their current roster and ended up under .500. Bloom whiffed.

This year, the tradable assets are different. Sox will probably stand pat and it's fine.

That's why Bloom needs to be able to make decisions without Henry around. I feel like Henry should be an absentee owner. Just set a budget and go away.

…and did no better making fans feel like we had a chance at winning in 2022.

They thought they had a chance last year. They were wrong. Unforgivable!

They’ve been wrong on everything, according to some, so what’s one more thing?

I’m very forgiving. Apparently, I’m the leader if the BAC*, so what does that tell you?

And I think I'm lead attorney in the Cora Defense Team.

Well, slasher never posts anymore, so there's not too much slung Cora's way except for all the Kiké playing time.

Posted
no, that would be Max/Cora.

Max is equal parts BAC and CAC.

Who was that poster who once called Cora “the greatest Sox manager, ever?”

Max does most of his defense work in the game threads, bless him. I usually try to stay out of that madhouse. :D

I think it's the same guy who second-guesses most of his lineups.
