Yoshida a perfect 0 for 4.  Some DH.  He's too expensive to DFA, but he sure ain't helping much.  5 untool player.

Just get rid of him.....I just don't want to see the most unathletic guy in the major league baseball.

He is 12-54 this year.

To some here, must win every inning.

I predict that we will lose at least two more games this year.

Its been a nice run, hasn't it. Still in striking distance of the Jays. But we have not accomplished anything, not yet. Lots of work to be done still.

Chaim whiffed when he signed Yoshida. I don’t know what he saw in him to give him that kind of contract.

especially when every other MLB team said it was a huge overpay.. Chaim Bloom-the gift that keeps on giving

May sucks

This doesn't feel right, but I actually agree with you. I need a drink.

Is there any sane reason why the Sox didn't offer Wacha a contract a few years ago when he finished 11-2? And of course, he follows that up with a 14-4 record with the Padres the next year.

Wacha, Eovaldi, lester,  Kyle Schwarber..etc  many stupid GM decisions.

One loss, and it seems like 10 in a row, here.

Early returns on the May deal aren't great! Hicks continues to be unfun to watch and we're stuck with him for a few more years. Sox still won the series though.

No game tonight and Buehler vs Pivetta on Friday. Feel free to ignore a few people until the Gio start on Saturday.

Any time you feel like getting depressed, game threads are an excellent place to start. 😭

I was thinking of taking a break from them.

I fully understand the "anger of the moment" and frustration when watching bumble and stumbles. Mix that with a few beers and you can see what we get. I know much of what is said is not fully meant to be true, but I just don't enjoy hyper negativity.

And Fred brings it to every thread.

Fred gets under my skin, sometimes, but for some reason not as much as he apparently does to others.

He does make some valid points, and when someone that negative is a Sox fan who just watched us suck for 5 of the last 6 years, he tends to be "right" more often than wrong. I think that just emboldened him.

I can't see how any Sox fan can't be optimist about this team. Maybe thinking they won't win a ring in '25 is understandable, but thinking the window opens in 2027 is just plain stubborn or extreme negativity.

That being said, I don't really have issues with Fred, because he is respectful and knowledgeable.

Not depression, but annoyance? I already deal with an annoying teenager at home, why be hassled when watching the Sox too?

If Jen Pawol ever umpires a Sox game, we may have to lock the thread.

Someone posted about catching a slant up their ass in a game thread earlier this week, that was more insightful than anything Fred has ever posted.

A lot of posters think W-L records are useless -- but only for pitchers, not for teams.

That's about as sane as it gets here; it couldn't be because the Sox didn't want a pitcher who would average 2.7 WAR (and counting) every season for the past four years like Wacha... because they have had zero guys accomplish that.
