  1. Jackie Bradley Jr. played a pretty salty CF between Benintendi and Betts back in the day.
  2. Not that I'm happy Wilyer is out for a while but I'm anxious to see what Jhostynoxon can do.
  3. He looked pretty good last night. Only 3 hits, and the only one that scored was Anthony that was on base only because he was walked twice. Timing is everything. Best part was the Sox made the best out of a night their bats were, for the most part, silenced. Nice W,
  4. Yep, and both have had positive mound experiences to date. Consistency is key.
  5. I didn't restrict it to just Breslow. Lighten up Francis! I've seen a great change in attitude since #11 was shipped west. Amazing when the tension is removed and the atmosphere is cleared up how the energy level is elevated. It's been fun watching the Sox the last month. Time will tell how the recent trades will work out. Right now, with little information to work with, there is still question about Matz and May. May's first start...................... iffy at best. Hopefully getting a start away from Fenway will get him back on track.
  6. More like the Sale to Atlanta for Grissom. Or the Betts to Dodgers for Verdugo, Wong and Downs. Nothing to show for Grissom or Downs and a thankfully a short stint for Verdugo in Boston. Connor had a pretty solid year last year but hasn't found that success this year.
  7. It's what the Red Sox do. Give, but receive almost nothing in return. Time will tell.
  8. Is there any sane reason why the Sox didn't offer Wacha a contract a few years ago when he finished 11-2? And of course, he follows that up with a 14-4 record with the Padres the next year.
  9. This doesn't feel right, but I actually agree with you. I need a drink.
  10. There were a couple early games he didn't have the run support he's been getting recently. It's baseball, and that part of it will show up now and then. The one and only year Sale was healthy he had some early games where the Sox' O didn't show up and it was frustrating to watch. Can only hope #35 doesn't turn into the "China Doll" #41 did his last few years in Boston.
  11. When they were canvasing fans on the new name of the team one brilliant fan suggested leaving "skins" as a part of it. It was the 4 letters in front of it that made it an interesting vision of what the logo would have looked like. "F o r e" were the first 4 letters of the new team name.
  12. Didn't look it up but this has to be an anomaly compared to previous years at Fenway. It's nice to see home cooking has been this good so far and it needs to be maintained to keep pace.
  13. Be patient. Devers isn't setting the world on fire in San Fran and he finally showed his talent level at first. Besides the energy this team is playing with, win or lose, is elevated since the "distraction" and his contract moved west. 30 mil. for a DH?? Good Riddance.
  14. A few games ago Buehler had a 2 hit 5 run inning with a handful of walks. Being on the other end of it, for a change, is much better.
  15. 1-10 with runners in scoring position and giving up 2 unearned runs isn't going to win you too many games. Too bad, because this was the best Buehler has pitched all year and really should have left the game in the lead. Hicks may cancel out the benefit of unloading #11. He hasn't shown me anything yet.
  16. Yeah, I've noticed the regulars that piss and moan more than most. It wouldn't be a fan forum without'em I guess.
  17. #1 Crochet has been huge. Even though a few of his outings were not complimented with enough offense to get a W he's gone to work and made it a possibility. What's really cool is the newbies that have stepped it up and delivered after Bregman, Casas went down. Toro, Gonzales, and Narvaez have made a huge impact on a team that lost some major components early. A year that started out with these additions, that I really hadn't heard much about, and the positive contributions they've all delivered............ a shout out to Breslow for picking these guys up and unloading the whiner. And how can you not respect the year, so far, that Story has put together? Finally healthy and confident, he's been clutch the past couple of months. The rookies have been phenomenal. Big step into " The Show " and for the most part they've been terrific. Hopefully the ASB will give them some time to rest up and make the second half a continuation of the past two weeks.
