A lot of posters think W-L records are useless -- but only for pitchers, not for teams.

That's about as sane as it gets here; it couldn't be because the Sox didn't want a pitcher who would average 2.7 WAR (and counting) every season for the past four years like Wacha... because they have had zero guys accomplish that.

the problem with Wacha was that he was inexpensive, healthy and rarely, if ever, missed a start. as you may, or may not know, Henry decided circa 2019-2020 to forgo healthy pitchers in lieu of injured, soon-to-be injured or rehabbing pitchers for reasons God only knows.

glad you didn't say only God knows... that pic last winter of Henry smoking a cigar by the fireplace seemed eerily like a final scene from an episode of Twilight Zone or Night Gallery, or the last panel from a story in House of Mystery.

Wacha was NOT healthy or have that reputation after '22.

I think Wacha has surprised a lot of people with how well he's pitched the last few years.

He seemed to be a good buy low option though, especially that first offseason when nobody had signed him and it was already ST.

I think most of us us wanted to bring him back.  We were right again.

We're not always right, but we were definitely right then. Were right before he signed with KC too. Not sure why they didn't like him?

Or anyone else.  His contract demands were never insane, but no one ever met them.

San Diego had a couple team-friendly team options and they still declined him.

Either his health history is very frightening or he is one insufferable SOB…

LMAO

Hell, most here wouldn't even know she was female until she removed her mask, and even then some would have no clue.

Btw, I had no problem with the female announcers Tuesday night. I've commented before that most baseball play-by-play announcers nowadays are produced by cookie cutters.

However, I would love to see Denis Leary and Lenny Clarke call a TV game from the booth. They're both big Sox fans and it would be the best night NESN's had in years.

Leary: What is Youk's ethnicity? Dont think Ive heard that name

Orsillo: The name is Greek, but he's ethnically Jewish"

(Youk makes a nice play)

Leary: "Take that , Mel Gibson"
