Good job by Dobbins tonight,

Certainly did what he was called up for . Certainly should have the win in the books if the BP can hold a 9 run lead.

Cardinals better check the waiver wire for some pitching .   They have been beat badly by our bats in this series.

Criswell just made a deposit on a one-way to Worcester . Showing nothing and using lots of pitches to do so

For all those who freaked out, it’s still just April 7th and Devers OPS is up to .825.  Glad he’s right, this lineup is starting to show you how dangerous it can be this year.

Freak out is right, and then some. Only after three games too. I hate to see what they would do in a REAL crisis. Not only did Raffy make a miraculous recovery, but the much maligned hitting coaches after three games as well has gotten the team hitting again. Way to go guys.

There is no miracle whatsoever in Devers' hot streak.

He is doing what he always did when he was good: stop trying to pull the ball to the moon (while he's looking for it over the John Hancock Building beyond right field), and instead keep his head down in an opposite field assault on the Green Monster.

The Wall giveath and taketh away, but it will never stop Raffy's best efforts to knocketh it down.

How many victory laps you planning to take? 🙃

As many laps as you guys took claiming their was a major crisis going on when there was none not only with Raffy, but the whole offense as well, and this was all done after all of three games into the season. How enjoyable was all that?

Must have been some miraculous weight loss as all that extra baggage he was carrying around according to you and Paplebon was what was really holding him back the first few games, right? 🧐

Remember the guy, last April who was complaining about the guy "kicking the ball all around RF?"

We all go overboard, at times, on smaller than legit sample sizes.

Good job by Dobbins tonight,

He did great. He really struggled last time out against the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp when I watched him. Maybe the Cardinals have an easier lineup?

We may all go overboard , at times, on smaller sample sizes.

And Im no exception, but my Wilyer will get MVP votes (after one game, not even 3) is holding strong.

(Not to imply it wasnt an overboard reaction to a small sample size, which it so definitely was)

He was included in 1,000 trade posts this offseason. Everyone take a bow!

It remains to be seen how many games Wilyer starts when a lefty is the opposing SP'er, and whose expense?

(Maybe Ref displaces Rafaela vs LHPs, since CR's splits are about even, anyway.)

I hear ya, and a lot can and will change throughout the season.  But right now, if Abreu is feeling good, he may be too hot to sit.  If he's feeling some fatigue with a lefty on the mound, makes sense to me.  Also - if he cools down, sure go back to your regularly scheduled platoon.

But for the next couple weeks, if hes feeling good, its hard to bench him.

I embrace streakiness and am a firm believer in riding the hot bat.  But I know theres contra schools of thought about patience, the value of set roles and all that.  Those arguments , however, feel a little too black/white to me but I dont discount them entirely

Don't look now, but Ref is hot, too.

I like "riding the hot hand," too. It bothered me that Cora often sat a guy after going something like 7 for his last 12.

Maybe Dobbins is one of those pitchers that defy all logic and somehow just get the job done, more often than not.

Tom Bolton 2.0?

Its good to see his walks reaching greater frequency than Bigfoot sightings…

I'm sure Dobbins would be thrilled to have an 8 year career like Bolton, but YUCK! Hopefully the next Tom Bolton gets an upgrade.

Bolton first made it to PAW in 1983. His best season for BOS was '90 where he also was still getting starts in PAW. Career taxi squad guy.

He said "Ref" not "Raf" which generally refers to Refsnyder. Refsnyder wasn't exactly tearing up the ball yesterday.

Also, the confusion between the two nicknames is exactly why those two nicknames is awful.
