The Patriots had the most ridiculous run of success in sports’ history, all things considered. I can’t be mad about reality catching up with them…

I was a pre-Brady Pats fan...Loved the Bledsoe years and the 70s teams as a kid. They didn't have to mail it in though. BB and his decision making last few years and his draft picks have been let's face it...terrible. He drafts a kicker when he had a reliable kicker. He has gone the Shula route and Shula's last few NFL years were signs of his demise too. Pats could have been competitive with some idea about the importance of the QB, importance of possession reliable WRs, and an understanding about speed. So while it's great to say "hey we had our run" and we did, but no excuses. Sox same thing. Can't just keep saying hey we won in 04, 07, 13, 18....we good, no more need to go for success....great then f*** it.

They were never going to get Yamamoto…

Not sure about that but regardless, I don't see how we are going to be at least competitive next year.

BB shouldn't be the GM. Great coach, bad GM. Just some awful GM draft choices.

Duke Dawson

Ras I Dowling

Isaiah Wynn

Aaron Dobson

Cyrus Jones

Jordan Richards

N'Keal Harry

Tyquan Thornton

The N keal one broke the camel’s back. All the red flags with harry where there and AJ Brown cried when the pats didn’t draft him. He was a pats fan.

Speaking of the dodgers even with all these moves i don’t think they’re better than the Braves.

Curious to see what happens with Kershaw now.

Dough Boy...I don't miss Newton as a QB, but I loved his nicknames that he gave certain players. JuJu Shuster over Meyers...Jakobi put up 150 catches for 1,650 yards in 2 seasons, and was Jones most reliable receiver...nope, let's go with Schuster, or Agholer, or that TE who did nothing....BB clearly a crappy GM on offense, has been for way too long. No priority in offense. Let's get Elliott because need to establish that running game with Stevenson...but the league's best are passing teams. You better have a QB, you better have WRs who are going to move chains...Pats don't have either of those options.

It’s definitely time for a new gm. I still love bill as a coach but idk if he would give up all his power. Does he really think he has done a good job as a gm? He would be lying to himself.

OMG it finally happened Moon has transitioned into Seabeachfred !

I've said "How Soon Is Now" many, many times.

I still have hope, but the optimism is gone.

Hope you are well Moon...you are the most loyal Sox fan I know...I just lost my enthusiasm for the team and the management has sucked my fandom right out of me.

Better than the Celtics run?

That's the rub. He can't/won't just become a coach...he craves the control, obsessed with that control, and to his credit, he sure did a lot with that control. It's just the game has passed him by--as far as evaluation of talent. He is a good in-game coach, maybe too conservative at times, but with a lack of talent you get what you get. It's on him. He has to go. I salute The Hoodie for all his accomplishments. Time for a new vision, new set of eyes as GM and coach.

I had to laugh when Verdugo was in full compliment mode on Chaim...but maybe he had a point on all that. Bloom was given directives for sure. Dombrowksi got to open the money bags and it paid off in 18. Breslow is up against it, and because no one has any expectations anymore, there has never been a New England sports GM that has less pressure on him than Brez. It's not like the team is going to compete anytime soon.

The Sox run and the Patriots run aren’t comparable.

The Patriots finished first 16 times and second twice in an 18 year run during a salary cap era. That’s beyond unprecedented…

I am expecting zero from these liars, well actually less than zero. Is Kluber still around?

That being said, there are still some 3-4 actions that could take place that makes us relative in 2024. I'm still hopeful these guys will snap out of their lie cycle and actually do them, but I'm not expecting it.

I know $325M is a huge gamble, but this kid is 25. From what everyone was saying about Cohen, the Dodgers and others, I expected he'd get more.

I'm so pissed about the inaction, I'm feeling we might as well sell, this winter. Trade anybody and everybody not tied down in 2025, of is expected to decline by then.

Go for a top 5 draft pick.

Keep all top prospects we feel are on the right track.

Get the best near MLB ready prospects we can for Jansen, Martin, Pivetta, Sale and a few others.

I'm ready to start the Realistic 2025 thread, at any moment.

"How Soon Is Now?" looks like 2025, at the earliest.

I hope they prove me wrong. I seriously doubt they will even try to.

Yeah, not sure why they don't just go all kids and call it a day. At least that way you build on it.

Amusing but depressing typo, since even SpellCheck knows that 'relevance' is now a pipe dream!

Brez says he's going full throttle, but can't seem to get anywhere without the catalytic converter Henry sold to American Pickers.

It was Werner that said that. I'm not exactly sure what Crag promised.

The only constant in Sox Baseball is Sale saying he sucks after a bad start....or sucks after going back on the Injured list. We always have that. I miss the days of ripping Kimbrel as closer on a great team. I was there at the game 5 finale at Dodger Stadium...never forget it...great times..now just great memories as Sox will challenge for best 81-81 team.

That might have been the plan since 2019, but they have just snowed us all along.

Had they just owned up to it and had fire sales, yearly, we'd be much better situated, right now.

I think they will - well not go "all-in" on the kids, but everything they do position player wise will be short term in such a way as for the kids to be able to take jobs.

But I am still somewhat optimistic the team will add significant pitching just because they have to. And yeah, I think signing them is more sensible than trading given where the franchise is.

Once again, any hope of a miracle begins with the longshot hope that Sale starts 29 games with a sub 2.80 ERA.

It will be rinse and repeat. We will sign such hopefuls as Frankie Montas and Giolito, hoping on rebounds, once again.

Of course, one year deals will be the goal, again.

Maybe we will load up on marginal talent in hopes we can dump some at the deadline.
