Ok, but right now Toronto is MLB’s biggest also-ran. Baltimore has a loaded farm that they really need to pan out, especially since they refuse to trade any of them…

Toronto has won so many offseasons and have nothing to show for it. Unless they can clone Joe Carter and Cito Gaston, they'll be stuck. That's what they get for all the cheating they've done without being properly punished.

But he also likely to be incapable of handling the workload

He just needs some of that Rays magic followed by a TJS in 2025.

And with the Dodgers being in a different time zone, a lot of their games won't conflict with Sox games.

I'm ok with that. I like to watch players that I know something about. I know more about the Dodgers these days than I do about the Sox.

Instant Karma’s gonna get you.

Even if is not exactly instant…

Bellhorn continues to fume uselessly about not signing Gray or Erod or Wacha.

If they don't sign anyone, those first two seem like misses. They were said to be interested in ERod too.

I'll take the Rays track record here, he will become an ace and they will trade him in 3 years for a prospects.

And the total cost of those two was $155 million, which is now considerably less than what Montgomery is expected to get.

From here on I'm just going to have to assume they are a bunch of stupid bozos unless they somehow prove they aren't.

C Barnes

1B Freeman

2B Betts

SS Lux

3B Muncy

RF Heyward

CF Outman

LF Taylor

DH Ohtani

SP Yamamoto

Seems like a good Opening Day lineup.

Can't wait for the Sox to make that big splash signing *Story*

Woodruff is the rehabbing injured guy. Write him down.

AAV is more important that overall contract though, right?

Rays track record includes lots of TJS.

At least the Sox have the kids...until they get good, then trade them so they don't have to pay them because the organization has become a low-budget operation.

I mean, whose doesn't nowadays? Most pitchers, if they have long careers, are going to sustain some kind of injury at some point in there careers. Even a guy like Verlander who lasted a long time eventually got hurt. Pitching is unnatural.

Or give them one contract with lots of opt outs and then not pay them after the first opt out.

Rays since 2020:

McClanahan

Kittredge

Springs

Baz

Glasnow

Anderson

Rasmussen

McKay

Poche

Beeks

Chirinos

I don't think it's a coincidence that the Rays seem to have the TJS bug more than other teams.

Sox, Patriots are no longer hungry franchises, living off the fat of the land and the laurels of winning so many championships. Price of success? Yankees? Hungry, haven't won in a while. The Sox and Pats have virtually become unwatchable even from a TV point of view. I couldn't wait to see the Sox at game on the Left Coast--but for the first time ever in my life I didn't see them v. Halos in 2023. Pats I just can't watch them anymore...you start to lose interest in teams that lose interest in the fans wants and lose interest in making the team the best it can be. The excuses for both franchises are just that...excuses.

Where are the triumphant posts by Management: "DODGED ANOTHER ONE!!!"

Meanwhile, back to scouring the injury reports and the police blotter.

Word has it when their lease expires, their new ballpark will be in Gulf Breeze, Florida so they can cut down in travel time to Dr. James Andrews…

Pats deserve it, especially the fans. So many of them just expect 12-4 and the playoffs every year. Most don't even remember the Rod Rust or Dick MacPherson years. Even Parcells only went 32-32 in his time here. You get what you give and Pats fans generally suck s*** and deserve a few losing seasons.

I'll take Bauer for $700 Trebek.

@tylermilliken_

Red Sox have signed catcher Mark Kolozsvary to a minor-league deal, per @kileymcd

.

He appeared in 10 games with the Reds in 2022 and just 1 game with the Orioles in 2023.

.174/.282/.301/.583 hitter in 87 career games at AAA. Entering his age-28 season.

The Patriots had the most ridiculous run of success in sports’ history, all things considered. I can’t be mad about reality catching up with them…
