I fully understand that Story isn’t here Without Bloom. My point being it doesn’t matter who signed him now he is the SS just like I said after last season ended that he would be the starting SS in 2023 when a number of posters on here said he should stay at 2B, and the team should go out, and get a SS. The only reason he was at 2B last year was, because of Bogey. If you think they are going to move him off SS now just , because a new front office type is coming in then fine, but I don’t, so we’ll see if I’m right, or not.

I'm all for Story at SS and Urias and Reyes at 2B.

 

If you remember, I was for Story at SS and moving Bogey to 2B, until I found out Story had a bum arm that would eventually need surgery.

 

Story is one of MLB best defensive SS. I don't think the next GM would want to mess with that. If he does, he'll already bo off on the wrong foot, IMO.

This would not be the ideal time to move Raffy to 1B. If that were to be done ST would be the ideal time to try that. I don’t believe Raffy will be playing 1B any time soon with Casas still there. I know Chapman is your latest wish, but I don’t see that happening either.

Dalbec also has been playing some RF in WOO. It'll be interesting to see if he gets some run out there as we finish out the month.

 

The season is over. The lineups no longer matter. The only people the need to play everyday are Abreu, Rafaela and that's probably it.

Looks like Devers has locked up the team OPS leader for 2023.

Devers is now at .876 (so much for the late season swoon.)

Casas is out (.856)

Duvall is too far away (.843)

I have more than 3 guys ahead of Dalbec on my to DFA list.

We will need to DFA or trade 3 guys to make room for the three 60 Day IL players being added back.

I don't see a major roster squeeze with there being 7-10 guys we can DFA or trade and barely miss them.

I think not wanting a backup 1b who can’t hit out field isn’t necessarily a bad thing. If you want to cite Franchy Cordero as a failed 1b, at least remember Dalbec couldn’t beat him out for the starting role…
