Why would you interject in the discussion to talk about the eye test or whatever then. Jesus Christ.

I had them 29th in eye test. O's are 30th after that dropped flyball in Game 2.

Why do you keep banging the money drum? Money is clearly not the issue here.

Pay off the official scorer to get the errors turned into hits.

LMAO on all of this.Just voicing my opinion like everyone else, and that the eye test is good enough for me, and the eye test always sends some into a tizzy. Hilarious!

Agree. They have been bad eye test, or whatever stats you want to use.

It doesn't rocket science and advance stats to tell that the Red Sox defense is s***.

With rocket science, we could have given Masa a great arm or launched the 2B/SS unit into the sun.

Maybe got Casas some more yoga classes?

How are you this bad at reading comprehension?

Are they FIGHTING for a playoff spot or "fighting" for a playoff spot.

According to you, and others it doesn’t really matter, because even if they sneak into the postseason they won’t go anywhere anyway.

Obviously, we have two separate types of fan on here. Two entirely different schools of thought. No problem.

It shouldn’t be, but it always is. Eye test always sets off alarms, and sirens.

That's debatable, Dipre. I'm not saying they should have spent like the Mets and Padres, but they could have spent a bit more. They are now middle of the pack in payroll, for the first time in a long time. And they're certainly not middle of the pack in market value, revenue or ticket prices. So I believe it's very much a debatable point.

Eye test will always do it. Also win/loss records, ERA, batting average , or just about anything " old school. "

excellent point

Eye test is an illusion.

You can watch a guy dive for a ball and make a great play, but how well can you analyze the route he took to get there?

A more efficient route would have deemed that play unnecessary, but to the untrained eye that player is amazing on defense. But his lack of route efficiency is a deficit.

Of course, this all rings 100% more true if you’re watching a game on TV. Your eyes are 100% meaningless on your couch aside for the purposes of entertainment

No one said not allowed I just said I don’t need a ranking, and that my eyes have told me all I need to see without ranking anything. Just my opinion.

Yes yes yes, we all know you have the golden set of eyes that tells you all on the couch. You don’t have to keep telling us.

Watching Kike throw the ball away time after time was not an illusion. The eye test is not everything, but it’s good enough for me. Being there in person tells you a lot more than TV, but once again seeing Kike lead the world in throwing errors on TV was far from an illusion.

You must be more needy than I am. It doesn’t tell me everything, but it tells me all I need to know, and that bugs the crap out of you, and others.

More needy, and more jokey.

Lol bells and whistle’s I made my point without a single bone triggered, I was happy to partake in the conversation and offer my insight.

Aren’t you the one always crying “all opinions matter” “that’s just my opinion” “blah blah blah”

But the someone comes in with a little joke and you get all hot and bothered by it.

Look we all have our things. I’m very brash and a dick at times, but this is totally your f***ing thing dude, which is exactly why I made the joke which apparently….set you off.

Projecting much?

In baseball, it's not always true You Get What You Pay For, but...

... the middling market Red Sox' current record is 7th out of 15 AL teams... one loss away from 9th...

Like I said the eye test have set bells, and whistles off 100 times over. Yes all opinions matter, but the crying comes with the bells, and whistles.

There is an interesting flaw in the post season format that quite possibly makes it better to be the third wild card than to be the first or second. The first two play each other while the third plays the probably weaker Central Division winner.
