They got to just let Narvaez play. I know they are worried about wearing him down but he’s never gonna figure out his bat with 8-12 live AB’s a week. I still got faith in him but he needs to be giving the kingdom or send him away for a true #1 Catcher if they are seeing something we aren’t,

Wong has been doing too well to sit anymore than he does.

He'll trade for Neto and Goodman, and some in here will complain that JH was too cheap to trade for Lindor & Langeliers.

Why not Soto and Ohtani? Does he not want to win?

Wong has been doing well but they gave up a pretty solid pitching prospect who has already pitched some good big league games for Narvaez and talked him up last year as your #1 and he’s the guy and Wong is having some decent numbers and it seems like they’ve just given up on Narvaez altogether. I mean Yoshida obviously hitting way better than Duran but they aren’t just benching Duran 3-4 games a week. I get it Duran defensive is far superior than Yoshida and Wong and Narvaez defense isn’t that drastic of a difference but what about Eaton putting up solid numbers in Worcester had some great AB’s when called up plays better defense than Yoshida and gets sent down. Monasterio has hit the ball well all season and given us solid def at SS but we’d only see him once a week when story and Meyer batting below .200… there’s got to be something more with Narvaez for them to just turn a 180 and not give him more games with how well he played last year getting the bulk of the games.

I'd prefer B Lowe, but Torres is a RHB.

I'd like and think possible: Jeffers & BLowe. (If Lugo is a straight dump, then hell yes! Add him.)

A half game out of the playoffs so I doubt Pitt is selling.

First trade:

Mets get: Marcelo Mayer, Kyson Witherspoon

Sox get: Francisco Lindor, Freddy Peralta, $50 million dollars.

We plug up the infield and improve the offense, Peralta adds much needed depth to the rotation.  If the Mets would take back Trevor Story instead of adding $50 million I'd consider that as well.

Second trade:

Rockies get: Anthony Eyanson, Marcus Phillips, Connor Wong

Red Sox get: Hunter Goodman.

Third trade: There is no third trade, I'm bringing up Frankling Arias

additions: Francisco Lindor, Freddy Peralta, Hunter Goodman, Franklin Arias

Lineup:

Masataka Yoshida - DH

Francisco Lindor - SS/2B

Wilson Contreras - 1B

Hunter Goodman - C

Wilyer Abreu - RF

Caleb Durbin - 3B

Ceddane Rafaela -CF

Jarren Duran - LF

Franklin Arias - 2B/SS

Rotation: Sonny Gray/Payton Tolle/Freddy Peralta/Jake Bennet/Opener then Bello)

I would not trade Eyanson. Too much potential to be a top of the rotation starter.

I agree with Notin, I dont think we need a starter - even minus Early.....With : Gray/Suarez/Tolle/Bennet/Sandoval/Bello....You can still get Crochet back for playoffs and maybe some others too.  That being said:

I include Early in my trade for either Shange dangly-ears or Hunter S Goodman

I make another trade acquiring Gleybar Torres at modest cost

If farm not too emptied, I try to get a DH/LF on the cheap as well.  Maybe a Spencer Steer, he can prob play 1b when Contreras has to sit for his suspension (thats happening at some point, right)

Do not trade Early. You don't give up good, young lefthanded pithers.

I’ll make a prediction.

After being linked to several bigger names and coming up short, once the dust settles, Breslow acquires RHSP Seth Lugo and RHH 1b/DH Ty France…

This feels so on brand for Breslow.

What deadline do I believe Breslow is capable of pulling off:

Big Move: Heliot Ramos/ Luis Arraez.

mid Move: Eugenio Suarez/ Pete Fairbanks

most likely: Spencer Steer/ Brennan Bernardino

I just don’t think Brez is capable of pulling off a big deal in any way shape or form.

Starting pitching and a RHBwith some power.

why a good starter?

Crochet hasn’t even thrown a baseball. To expect him back is a tall order, never mind asking him to automatically be an ace again after 4+ months on the shelf. Please don’t expect much if anything from him right now. Maybe that’ll change after he starts throwing an actual baseball, but for now he’s still a scratch.

We will need to really monitor Early with his elbow.
Tolle and Bennett should not be counted on either as BOTH are at or right on top of their all time IP. A few more games each and they will be done. I doubt they take any chances with them. Maybe push Tolle a little but not Bennett after just returning last year from TJS.

Gray will need some rest at some point and Suarez’ groin is still bothering him.

we will absolutely need a starter that’s been there before and can handle the playoffs. If we can have a healthy Gray Suarez and Early, I’d feel a LOT better with another good name to add to that. Maybe two.

and we all know we could use another. Bat in this line up. Go get the best available and adjust as needed. C OF SS 2b or even 3b since Durbin can move to 2nd if need be. Whoever will make this lineup better and is a good fit in that clubhouse.

There will be some good starters and bats available. If they’re going to go for it then we should expect some top prospects to be saying goodbye. I’m ok with that as long as the names coming back are top players. A middle to top rotation arm for sure. Maybe a LHP out of the pen and a Big HR bat.

Im not sure why everyone is setting themselves up / preparing for disappointment.

Breslow needs to make a substantial move, the last 5 deadlines have been rough and were substantial contributors to what got the last guy fired.

I wouldnt fret about what we have to give up or cling so closely to our prospects like we are gollum in lord of the rings (my precioussss prospectsssss)

Trade and flip, wheel and deal, churn and burn

I want demand 5 position player swaps and 2 new pitchers..... Give me: Shea Danglyears, Gleybar T, Neto.....Thats actually prob fine.  But also maybe Lugo and a pen arm.  Trade the pitchers who are not named: Tolle, Bennet, Gray, Suarez, Crochet

There's a difference between wanting to hoard all your respects vs. I don't want to completely deplet the system.  I also see nothing wrong in wanting to not overpay or liking a specific prospect but overall I agree, prospects are there to help the big league club and part of that is trading them away.

My thing is I dont like being all-in....all-out....or exactly in the middle.  If its a sliding scale and one goal-post (on the left) is present and the right goalpost is future.....I never want to be all the way to one-side (either side) or in the middle either.  I think there are times when we should be 75% focused on future / 25% focused on present and times when that should be flipped.

I guess what I mean is, we should never equally prioritize present and future (because then we are prioritizing neither) but we should never be all-in on the present...and im not a big believer in complete tear downs eitehr because it can be a longer road back then people think....You can lose culture, identity.....all that stuff

But that aside, my main thing is the mentality.  Ive noticed many fans approach the deadline with apprehension.  I have friends that are just so scared of giving up someting....and im in fantasy leagues with them and they never trade.....and they are always 100% optimistic struggling guys (on their teams) will turn it around and injured guys will come back.

They hate the deadline, its my favorite day of the baseball year.  Just two different mentalities.  I like headlines and excitement

The troubling part is the guys that are closest (Arias and Eyanson) are the two top prospects. Teams want guys with proximity to MLB. Other guys in AA and above have little value.

No I get that, and when you do decide to buy people have to realize the perfect guy is not out there.  There's only so many players for sale and everyone else wants them too.

If you get stuck in the "well he's ok but he's left handed" "well he's ok but he should really be at this position" "well he's ok but I wish he was a few years younger" you will be stuck as the only guy at the dance without a dance partner.

Two right-handed bats (middle inf, C, DH) that have pop, and a decent reliever.

I know everyone needs starting pitching -- even a club with a nine-man rotation in ST -- but I'm not giving up quality minor league starters for older arms because what the's point?

If Eyanson or Holobetz are MLB ready, then bring them up instead of trade them -- unless it's for an All-Star hitter (ya, they'll soon be reaching career limitations, so stick them in the pen for middle relief and bulk work down the stretch; no need to look for good arms when we already have good arms).

The reality is all major league baseball players that we are looking to trade for have proven at some point or another that they have success in Major league baseball. Therefore inherently have much higher floors in MLB then these prospects with an ETA of 2028. I agree 100% if we miss on a prospect there will be zero return, if a good baseball player starts declining they’re still some value.
Personally I’d love the Red Sox fan base, and front office to add a little AJ preller to their approach. Red Sox fans love to worry about 2031 right now….. You can keep reloading prospects every year.

My perspective is just to make good, value-added trades.  If we can get Ward or Adell, for little cost, go for it.  OTOH, if we can get a major talent for Mayer, Witherspoon, and Eyanson, I'd go for that also.  I don't really see a compelling reason to go all-in or all-out.

If you do it right you’re not depleting the system. You trade for young controllable so you don’t need to have all these prospects ready to go in 1-2 years. You draft the next batch and build them up. They are all shots in the dark anyways. Plus breslow went heavy on older college players that have a chance of moving up fast just like godbout and eyanson they are a year away from replacing the arias Tolle early guys anyways. Deplete the system more prospects will be ready in 3-5 years most the core roster is under 30 anyways.
