Honestly,  would any GM on a contender take Duran at this point. Swings at 2 ball 4s , one if which was headed for Rays dugout

Officially a game above .500 and in sole possession of a wildcard spot.

Not sure if these guys have enough talent to be a contender even if they get healthy and get another bat or two but at least they have become a fun team to watch. They weren’t worth watching for months. Now they are.

It was 2 runs before Watson gave up the 2 out HR.

The point was a better pitcher should have been used to hold it at 2.

The reality is that Sandoval had nothing

Watson is pitching well enough.  He's not our best guy by any means, but he has a 3.31/3.86 ERA/FIP over his last 35.1 IPs, with a 32/11 K/W.  We won't get by without using most of our BP.

Fred's innumeracy not withstanding.

If this streak and current series doesn't tell you about the need for power bats, nothing will.

6 outs to go

I'm curious what this is telling you?

Didn't see the game, just the box.  Why does Jones hit a HR in his first AB and then is replaced by a .180 hitter?

It's telling me that the 11th and 12th win in the streak were won by a combo of 4 Abreu HRs, Jones, and Conntrares long balls .

Sox need a long ball threat at DH .

That was Devers last year: 73 games, 15 dingerrs, 58 rbi's, and .905 OPS.

The .181 guy has a higher OPS than Jones and is a better fielder.   Duran has played in all 12 games of the winning streak.

So now were wondering why Jones ISN’T playing?

Jones is useless vs. RHP

Did that really just happen?  Why did a 7th inning home run feel almost like a walkoff?  Guess because they had not come back from down 3 all year. I wanted Abreu to have the green light on 3-0, then he took a fastball right down the middle and I thought they had missed their chance.

Best win of the year for me,  Keeping the streak alive made it felt like a pennant race win in September.  Chapman has not been the same for many weeks now and that's my concern.
