Hey, at least in this case when we make the opposing pitcher look cy young caliber, we can actually take solace in the fact that he is a cy young caliber pitcher

Unlike last 2 nights, putting up 0s against 5 and 6+ era pitchers.

And they say Im negative, Im mr brightside....Except for the parts about mr brightside being a peeping tom in the killers hit

The Sox do get very negative results from potential run scoring setups.   Low results from RISP siuations, failure to get balls through drawn in infields, Ks, no flyball SF.

They have figured out how to waste excellent pitching.

Is there a way for this offense to score negative runs?

Hit one over the fence and go clockwise around the bases?

Okay, the first half of that sentence is pure fantasy.

Well, Mr. Brightside is more about jealousy and a perceived affair taking over the singer’s thoughts to obsessive levels.  He wasn’t enjoying anything through perverse activities as much as he simply couldn’t let go of the idea.

So What?

Red Sox lineup has no Trevor Story, no Masataka Yoshida vs. tough righty Friday night.

The Great Gasper to the rescue. Never fear. Gasper is here.

Story needed a rest day to give himself a psych evaluation.

Yoshida is slow to get the message that he should just ask for a transfer back to the Japanese league.

On a serious note,  is Sox management ( FO) willing to just play out the next month to see if the poor hitting will self correct  for guys like Duran, Story, Durbin  or do the " analysts" have the guts to tell Craig : Do something !

They make combined $41M. They can charter a plane at the least.

I posted the same thing. I should have read the preceding posts first.

Well, the air is thinner in Atlanta. But is it thin enough for the Sox? Most of these Sox batters would still only have warning track power on the moon.

Run around the bases backwards. Jimmy Piersall did it once.

Jimmy got dissed a lot because of his mental problems, but that SOB was a hell of a defensive CF.

I think it's time for Netflix to make a better movie about Mr Piersall.

Fear Strikes Out definitely struck out. I don't believe Tony Perkins ever saw a baseball before he was in that movie.

At the time Casey Stengel said Jimmy Piersall was the best CF he ever saw.

I firmly believe the Sox can score a bunch of runs tonight because just before posting this, I reminded myself of the heartwarming tale involving a blind squirrel.

So why sit Yoshida, who is outhitting Duran by about 100 points?  How long do you keep running Duran out there thinking he will eventually figure it out.

And no sooner said, than Duran shows why he is such a disruptive force.

Because Duran can get from HP to the dugout faster.

I can understand being picked off by a lefty.  There’s virtually no excuse for it happening with a righty on the mound.

That ball fooled Cedanne.  He looked like he had a beat on it and it just kept carrying.  I think if he gets to the wall a little quicker, he goes more straight up and takes the homer away.

There's virtually no excuse for the Sox offense.

It's that thin air.

seven pitches into the bottom of the first and the game is already over. no way this inept, incapable, incompetent, impotent offensive offense can overcome a 1-0 lead.

The booing on Early’s toss to first reminded me I heard quite a few last night near the end of the game.  They were sort of drowned out by Philly fans, but they were definitely audible.

I believe at 2-0 it will be ovah.
