Sonny and Rafaela come through tonight.

I'd like to be able to say maybe this is the start of something, but I'm not feeling it.

The pitching and the defense have been very good. Two out of three just ain't cutting it.

Story for MVP?

Some sloppy ABs for the Phillies in the 9th.  Chapman walked Schwarber, so Harper probably should've taken a pitch to start his AB.  Then he walks Turner on 4 pitches, none particularly close, and Bohm swings at the first pitch?

Good win, but we had an 8/0 K/W, which is ugly.  We should give Durbin a day or two off.

We have a very good pitching staff, even without Crochet and Suarez.

Ceddanne is now up to .775. That's 3rd best on the team and better than the mean of MLB players who qualify with enough PAs.

The league OPS is .708.

Rafaela got up around .775, last year, too (.796 on July 13th) but ended at .708.

If he can't, he'll probably be DFA'd.

Zero chance he gets DFAd.  But it’s nice to see we are equally impatient with other teams’ top prospects…

Actually, I was just being sarcastic and also describing how weak the Sox offense is.

I'm waiting for Raleigh, Devers, Trea Turner, Bichette, and Naylor to get DFAd.

What he’s up to is 281-4HR-19RBI.

Good to see the much maligned Story get 2 hits with one being a HR. On the other side DUBin 0-3 all k’s, and Duran 0-4 with 2 k’s.

Feeling what? Because the Red Sox scored a whopping 3 runs last night, and went from 7 games to 6 games from 500? I don’t think last nights game pulled to many people in off the ledge.🤭

The mind plays tricks, I got an alert on my phone last night and I saw the Sox lost to the phillies.  I thought to myself "of course" threw my phone on the couch and put on some TV.

This morning I'm seeing they won last night....apparently, I've been conditioned to expect loss.

It's pretty much the same offense, the pitching just held them to 1 run.  That's what this team needs to do to win, hold the opposition to 0-1 runs.

The pitching and defense has been so good an average offense would make for a great team.  The offense has been that bad for them to suck this much.

The ABS challenge by Durbin was genius:  for a brief moment, he had a 50% chance of getting on base.  Go for it.

He doesn't always come through -- because he's a baseball player -- but we've seen him repeat heroics more than most for three years now.

The opposite of Story.

Too close for me at the end but Chapman did indeed dial it up midway through the Harper at bat.   But man this team is borderline unwatchable.  When will Duran finally get it going? We have too large of a sample size to believe he is this now.

If Jarren “The Man With 1000 Batting Stances” Duran can get going and Story can hit like he has over the last 3 years, and if Durbin can, well what can Durbin do?  Bat ninth I guess.  Then maybe this team could finally put something together.

Thats not too much to ask.  But honestly, if that does happen, it will likely just expose the bullpen…

Durbin is at least playing great defense. That's it though. We now know what it's like to have Ke'Bryan Hayes on the roster.
