Very windy in St. Louis today. Haven't got to Busch yet to see which way its blowing. Maybe the Sox will hit one out today. Two nights, nothing close.

Nailed it! Maybe someone else can hit one out??

Willson Contreras has been a solid addition

I wasn’t thrilled but it appears they Sox targeted him and made it happen.  Hope he keeps it up…

If wind is a factor, Jordan Walker should not see any more pitches within 2 feet of the strike zone…

Cora fears asking players to change positions…

Bello looked okay. We need him to be consistently okay or better.

Contreras may help us forget about Alonso and maybe even Bregman's (bat.)

Story goes 4 for 5 and gets to a .461 OPS. WOW!

Anthony fell below .600. Cue Ole Red's "suspect" mantra.

Duran with 3 RBI is nice.

We've won 2 series in a row! (Both after losing game 1.)

I thought Bello good.  Not great, but guys like him seldom look flashy.  Contreras has looked so good it's ridiculous.  Anthony is a slight concern.  I don't care about the stats, but he looks slightly off.  IMHO, with Duran, it was only a matter of time.

More importantly, that is one time through the rotation with everyone looking good.  IMO, that's big.  Meanwhile, TO has lost 8-10 and the NYY have lost 5 in a row.  I think that's statistical noise, but some people believe in that.

Many felt Fenway was made for Willson, but he's looked fine on the road, too, thanks to today.

We still need Durbin to turn things around to make the infield choices look good, but that could happen.

(Maybe IKF or Cheng can help, too.)

Absent Bello's and Suarez' first two starts. our ERA is 3.14.

yeah, really nice to see some of these guys finally turn it on. no idea whats wrong with RA, but i think he'll come around. Durbin needs to "rest" or at least move down in the batting order. there is no reason at all for someone that is such a s***** hitter to be batting second.

Well, Story sucked up second. Maybe the idea is to bat every slumping player second, then demote them down the line-up and watch them flourish.

Wasn’t you touting Mayer, and little Anthony when they went 5-6 on opening day? Since then Anthony has gone 8-58 with 18k’s, and Mayer has gone 6-44 with 12 k’s. That’s a combined 14-102 with 30k’s. That sounds pretty Suspect to me. Not to mention that little Anthony looks more like a DH than even an average OF. Wow!!🤭

What a relief to see Bello have a good outing, the bats came alive for the 2nd game in a row and they won back to back series.  I've always felt a legit 1st baseman could have cut the infield errors way down and now we are seeing it, the previous first basement never helped out their teammate and salvaged an errant throw.

Going into the season I was pretty convinced that Mayer would struggle offensively, he just hasn't proven that he can hit MLB pitching and lost so much development time.  Anthony is one I can not figure out.  If you aren't worried now when you put his bat with his inability to play the outfield then I don't know what you are thinking.  This was not supposed to happen.

Some on other venues have questioned whether, or not little Anthony has the yips with his throwing in the outfield.🤔

And some other sites are probably leaping on accusations about Jordan Walker taking steroids after his 7th home run in the past 9 games.  But that doesn’t make it fact, no matter how many completely arbitrary people do it.

It’s weird how you label players as suspect after a slump, but leap onto any fan gossip as if it has relevance.  And weirder still is you call yourself a Red Sox fan, but then berate anyone for showing any signs of enthusiasm for this team…

For Walker, it's nice to see a former top prospect finally figure it out. I don't think he's going to get MVP votes this season, but maybe he's cementing himself as a fulltime player going forward.

Part of me wonders if the path Walker has taken is what could be in store for KC.

It looks like he’s gone past figuring it out and leapt all the way to “ready to write a book about it.”

He won’t get MVP votes but somehow he’s probably a candidate for NL Comeback Player of the Year, because they like to occasionally give that award to breakouts instead of comebacks.

And Walker is an excellent parallel for Campbell. Walker came up as a 3b with defensive concerns and was converted into an OF with defensive concerns.  He’s still not a good OF, but St. Louis gave him a chance to figure something out there as well.,

Walker was a bad defender last year, but metrics have him as average so far. It's April though. If his defense is average and he just repeats his '23 numbers the rest of the way, he's a valuable guy for the Cards.

Not a whole lot to get excited about in STL right now as you can tell with the ticket sales.
