There is no way in hell we are scoring two runs off Mason Miller unless he’s pulling an Enmanuel Clase and gambling on games.

I love baseball and have a lot of plans to unfortunately watch this s***** ass team play in Baltimore and Tampa this year. I’m dreading it instead of being excited.

Yeah it was considered an overpay as soon as it happened. He traded two of the teams top prospects for a f***ing rental of washed Dustin May and Johan Oviedo who could very well need another arm surgery.

At least he traded Devers to free up money that I was told was to allegedly re-sign Bregman and now I’m watching Caleb Durbin at third,

while JH keeps counting his $$

I think it's pretty clear Cora has been checked out for a couple years now... he will ride out this contract and then go be a GM or back to TV...

we suck again

Well we don’t REALLY suck. I think we’re better than the Rays…but it’s close.
It’s early in the season. There are lots more games like this on the horizon.

LMAO!

No, Just have to win 6 straight games. I don't think this team is capable of that. Nevertheless, I will be in St. Louis next weekend to see them try.

No?

If we win 5 series by 1 game, we'll be at .500.

Winning 6 straight gets us over .500. I'd prefer your way, but realism gets in the way.

BTW Weissert must be sent to AAA or DFAed. Guy cost us another game.

It's a tiny sample size, but he's been hideous.

Or at a minimum, stop getting opportunities to pitch with small leads…

Maybe if they fire Cora?

Well he did free up money, just as he did by giving away Mookie and Bogaerts.  Now it's his.

Tibbs and Ehrhard were not even close to top prospects.

Okay, Jh Garcia was ranked 6th, but we also got Samaniego with Oviedo, and the jury is still firmly out on this deal.

I doubt he gets fired during the season , but I do think this will be his last year.  They will paper it over with a kick upstairs, like head scout eastern Puerto Rico and good friend of JH.

This team doers not appear ready for the season vs good competition , and the roster is not strong . Shoul;d Cora have expected 3 full innings out of Uber ?

Ranger Suarez will prove to be a major mistake, Weissert has been long balled in 3 of 5 appearances ,

Breslow will next on the hot seat and dropped as a cost reduction measure next off season.

i think Tibbs was listed by some as the Giants #2 prospect at the onset of last season.

He was 7th on soxprospects, com, which is higher than I remember, but I still wouldn't say "top prospect."

Decent prospects, yes.

The Buehler signing was worse.

6 Sox players with OPS below .600 , including Duran and Contreras, plus the left side of the infield Durbin and Story.

And where is the 46 million sub, IKF . Should be IDK,  4 ABs total in 9 games.

Breslow put together an unbalanced  roster, so it’s not surprising they are stinking it up.

Fangraphs did have him at 4, but also still in A+…

The Buehler signing didn’t work out, but it had no lasting repercussions.   Dustin May made zero sense to acquire.  If he had anything left in the tank, don’t you think the Dodgers keep him?  Wuth no more waiver trade deadline, why would any contending team trade a useful SP, knowing full well they would not be able to add another one the rest of the year?

And the answer of course is, they would not trade a USEFUL SP, but they would gladly part with a useless one…

Saying Buehler was worse is not a defense of the stab in the dark May trade.

We are known for those types of deadline trades, and nobody is happy about it.

Deals like Matz and even the Luis Garcia/Lucas Sims deals are better "stabs," but our choices of SP'er trade targets have been horrific.

Mayer is very good defensively. Smooth.

Every time I see him touch the ball he just looks like a really good defensive major league infielder.

I have been a Cora supporter. But he does tend to be too loyal and sticks with players who should not be out there. I have no idea why he continue to utilize Weissert the way he does.

Because he struck out Judge in the WBC. He was Italia's main man on the mound. I watched as many games as I could and remember thinking: Weissert is either better than ever or going to be burned out when the season starts.

Now we know.

And consider this: if Weissert doesn't come into 3 games and immediately give up game-changing bombs, the Sox may be 5-4 instead of 2-7, their worst start ever.
