The amazing part is that the excuse makers on here think they are the ones who are in the majority, and like I’ve said many times this forum is a very small percentage of opinions of what’s out there in the rest of Red Sox Nation.

Pure unadulterated BS. None of us "excuse makers" has ever said anything about thinking they're in the majority.

Don't make stuff up. It's really annoying.

So the Red Sox were a AAA team to start 10-19? You can only take the injury thing just so far, before it gets not credible.

Now that’s ultimately cherry picking, and narrowing in my argument. That’s a months worth of baseball, great teams get off to poor starts all the time. Sox started to play excellent in June before they got hit with the injury bug. So yes, you can blame it on injuries partially, but be fair to my OP in which I also credited the teams performance to player underperformance. Aside from Devers, I believe every regular is having a career worse or at least a below average career year.

But still, that team got hot before the injuries started piling up and they became an AAA team. That’s been the season so far in a nutshell

At least you admitted there are excuse makers, but maybe it’s the excuses that could be classified as annoying.

Do you think the way the team played in June had anything, or everything to do with playing the bad AL West? I do, and wasn’t the Angels going through a 15 game losing streak at the time, and Seattle was not the team they are today either.

The pink hats will never get it Red so don’t waste your keyboard strokes on posters who try to justify what an incompetent GM has done thus far

I'm happy with the results of 4 championships.

Can you name a team that has good results every year?

It was in reference to Bloom and his performance in his third year at the helm. The thread is titled " Fire Bloom ". I'm not necessarily in favor of firing him , but I do find it odd that some think he is doing a good job and warrants their loyalty. I just cannot agree with that. Results matter. Or at least they should.

You don’t have to win a Championship every year, but you shouldn’t have as many last place finishes in those years either. Not with the payroll the Red Sox have.

I just like to see how they justify all these moves, and I give them A for effort, but nothing else.

Then they should stop handing out long term 9-figure contracts like they’re lotto scratch offs…

I agree with you they should resign Bogey, and Raffy.

Results matter. But so does the starting point.

If you go by nothing but looking at each individual season in a vacuum, then you have to conclude John Farrell was the best manager in franchise history…

Didn’t Farrell have a last place finish on his resume?

Yes. But also more AL East pennants than any manager in franchise history. More than Cora. More than Francona. More than everyone.

And, hey, all that matters are results…

I agree with you the team won in spite of Farrell.

Nope. That’s not looking solely at results. That’s making up results that you like, which is the opposite…

I, for one, have always felt like most of my positions and ideas are unpopular to most posters.

Hell mine are often unpopular among the stat crowd. And many are not so hesitant to point it out, especially my mistakes and flawed logic (which I am more than fine with)…

The starting pitching has been addressed multiple times, but internal options go first for two reasons.

1. Easier to undo if something doesn’t work out

2. Can do it anytime, unlike trades that require waiting for another team to sell

Delusional totally screwed in the head freaking Love what you both bring but man you both need to face what’s happening .I don’t get angry at just any ass hats it’s the people who mean so much to this board that are blind as f*** .Notin Moon please pleassssss stop this excuse machine you have going .We needed a CF by mid July when The horrible play of Duran had been exposed and JBJ was never going to offer anything but a late inning defense replacement on the road .The starting pitching is a mash unit and had to be addressed by outside trades to maintain second place in this division .The lack of a first base trade was jimmies on top of Blooms self made s*** sundae.Firgive me my anger it’s over the top but gain some self awareness both of you ....what makes Moon a target ? His absolutes about a GM about players that are beyond patient beyond statistically impossible for someone that smart ....it’s borderline troll territory. Stop Defending this intentionally obvious implosion .i need to take a break .I am sorry about getting personal it’s stupid .Totally respect everyone who posts here but I get pissed at the OGs more than fly by nights that visit .

Bloom has done a good job - the team has gotten a lot of pitching in the org. But I think the org is maintaining an attitude about contracts which is prudent on paper but not great in real life for a franchise like Boston.

But the story this season is that the Red Sox have gotten absolutely nothing about of positions where you expect offensive production, and of course the health of the starters has been a disaster. Signing high upside guys with some medical risk is a good way to build a rotation cheaply - but it is not often that all of the medical risks crap out at the same time. The sad thing was that two month stretch where Pivetta teased us before turning back into a pumpkin.

Dude half the league needs SO, and so far only one has been moved, and that happened this weekend. Could the Sox have acquired Luis Castillo? Sure. But it would have cost at least one of Casas or Mayer…

JBJ .....Bobby D ......Brasier .....Barnes ......trading Hunter .....Making franchy an everyday 1b ....jettisoned Kyle ...Failed to address Rotation beyond a 100 year old Rich hill and a Human DL stint Paxton ? ....questions ? Why after 20 starter losses in July wasn’t the issue traded for ? Why after the realization that Bobby D and Franchy are horrific everyday players wasn’t first base traded for ? Don’t sell me on waiting for Casas because he was hurt too .I am tired of this fan base uttering the words Bloom has done good ....How ? Worst trade in the history of Redsox besides Babe Ruth ? Setting this team back atleast 5 years .Bloom is destroying this team .
