Devers may refuse an extension, so we may need to move to other priorities after his.

Bogey is a tough call. He may refuse any talk of restructuring his deal. I do agree, we should find out his thoughts. make him a fair offer, and if he says no, we have to think about moving him for something better than a comp pick.

Devers will be a tough situation to handle. Mookie got up to 27 million arbitration before he left, and Raffy probably will as well, so either way it will take millions to sign him.

Agree on Bogey, and if he won’t restructure then moving him would be the best option then letting him walk for nothing. I still think unlike Mookie he wants to stay.

JD is paid $22M, Schwarber is playing for $10M......

Who has ever said Schwarber will get JD money? Not even Ortiz made that much money as a DH.

Old Red needs to quit picking on Schwarber......he's been big help to Sox during the stretch.

Mookie received $20M for his arb 2 year. It'll be interesting to see how far apart Devers/Sox are for 2022, Dever's arb #2 year.

There is one rather big difference between Betts & Devers/Bogey: defense, but yes, both will command mega dollars.

If 34 was playing today he would get JD money.

Pick on Schwaber? If pointing out that Schwaber has never hit more than 266, or has only had more than 71 RBI once is picking on him then I’m guilty, and if saying that Schwaber is not a rum producer like JD is picking on Schwaber then I’m guilty.

$20M the offseason after winning a WS and having 10.4 fWAR. Devers was 4.7 this season.

I stand by my comment....Schwarber is paid $10M. JD is paid $22M to play half of the game. If you can't see the disparity in 'value', I have no use talking to you OLD RED.

Then don’t. I had already changed the question when you answered.

There's a time and place for rum and runs.

We need runs, now.

DFA Schwarber.

It's either Schwaber or JDM, not both. Neither is an effective defender.

After watching the ALCS, I believe Refroe is a weakness and seeing that the team has put no trust in Dalbec, maybe he should be moved as well.

Since it’s a discussion about rum, can I assume that in your request about Schwarber, “DFA” means “Drink, Fat Ass!!”

Renfroe had 31 HR and 96 RBI this year while making a relatively small 3.1 million. He's in a slump right now, that's all. Have some patience.

I agree. Renfroe is in a deep slump, and his grounding into DP’s have been killers, but they wouldn’t have gotten into the postseason without him.

There's nothing quite like the non-stop roller coaster ride baseball can give you. One day you're high as a kite. The next you're lower than a snake's belly.

No one is saying trade him, release him, or DFA him. Just bench him. For one game.

Patience is something the Sox cannot afford right now….

Sure, I'm fine with that. I was responding more to oldtimer calling him a "weakness" and suggesting that he and Dalbec should be "moved".

Average fan: Schwarber was a god when he hit that slam in Game 3. Now he's just a guy who's 0 for 8 the last 2 games.

Like he’ll never get another hit again.

Franchy Cordero DFA'd today. Key piece in Benintendi deal. I remember when the Sox could have traded Benintendi instead of Moncada in the Sale deal. That would have been a much better result. Although, Benintendi did contribute to the 2018 Championship.

I am confident the Sox will have their hitting shoes on in Houston. Their backs are to the wall now. They will come out fighting. Like they have all season.

We still have 4 other parts.

I like him and he seems to be great at showing other hitters how to be patient.

True, and hopefully one or two pans out or leads to something else.

If they still had Beni, they wouldn’t have been able to afford Ottavino. Probably would have missed the playoffs.

Looking at potential pitching free agents that hang’em Chaim could sign this offseason is really interesting. We have a huge opportunity to upgrade the rotation and the bullpen,
