@ChrisCotillo

To recap:

* Schwarber being activated, Marwin Gonzalez DFA tonight

* Verdugo rejoining club tonight, Houck optioned (until Tuesday)

* Vázquez, Sale will be activated tomorrow

* Arroyo, Santana, Brasier coming next week most likely

Lots of dead weight about to go bye-bye.

Very little rehab for Schwarber. Desperate times , etc.

Like the saying has been said over and over, this year, "How can he be any worse than _____?"

You are right. Add in the name. Marwin was DFA'd this time but it could have been Franchy or Robles or Andriese or Santana. I doubt they DFA Dalbec, instead they might send him back to AAA to try to straighten out his plate approach.

Still no Munoz. I am wondering if it about the CBT. He certainly has hit well enough and is flexible enough to be on this team for a try. But he isn't currently on the 40 man which might be his curse.

Desperate times require desperate measures. Notice he is DHing. They probably do not want to risk a recurrence of the leg injury by stretching at 1st.

Munoz will likely get his chance soon. Just as many others have this year.

He won't stay at DH for long, presumably. JH needs to be the DH most of the time.

I don't see that happening.

Bloom's not cutting guys he just acquired at the deadline. That would be admitting he totally blew it -- not only to the fans, but to the players. Hansel and Davis (i don't even know his first name, but it's not Henry) will both be gone in due time, but as part of a roster turnover in the guise of "going in a different direction".

I seriously doubt Cordero's name even comes up in discussing any DFA's.

He has options left and is hanging onto some promise going forward.

Delightfully cynical.

You don't actually hear the "going in a different direction" applied to players very often. Usually it's reserved for executives and managers.

The Hansel and Gretel additions were not serious moves, and what we gave up for them is the proof.

IMO, Santana goes first (Sale), but when Brasier needs to be activate to the 40man roster, this is my list in order of most likely DFA'd listed first. (Note: I've been wrong before.)

1. Robles

2. Andriese (due to his option cost in 2022 being too high)

3. Davis

4. Richards

5. Perez

Bubble players, this off season, could just be DFA'd now rather than later:

(Some might have trade value and won't be DFA'd.)

Potts

Rosario

Arauz

Bazardo (60 day IL)

Ro. Hernandez

Players I think will be on the 40 man in 2022 (or traded): Cordero & Rios.

1. Activate Sale, DFA Santana, Promote Sale, Demote Davis (Robles has no options)

2. Activate Brasier, DFA Robles, Promote Brasier

3. Activate Vaz, Demote Wong

4. Activate Arroyo, Demote Arauz

5. Activate DHern, Demote Richards or Cordero

Getting rid of Robles and Davis is basically waiving Chavis and Scherff.

I think you are stuck with them.

We would have waived Chavis, this winter for the Rule 5's.

DFA'ing Andriese or Richards admits mistakes, too.

I think we all agree Santana goes, but who goes for Brasier?

Name a name.

I would use any options that Davis has.

Having Marwin in the lineup last night was a little like the condemned man's last cigarette, wasn't it?

I thought about that.

It couldn't have been a last chance- like if he had gone 4 for 5, he'd still be on the 40.

Pivetta now has a full 80 points of breathing room under 700hitter's 5.00 ERA bar.

Don't expect two admissions in a single decade.

How about that?

Bobby Dee back over .700!

Kike up to .790.

Plawecki .775.

Have we found our new long man? (Richards)

Nice game, tonight.

12 Ks

1 BB

7 H

1 ER

Welcome back Pivetta (4.20 ERA, now.)

Is this enough to give up on a young player after just 416 PAs in MLB?

.236 20 65 (21 2B+3B)

Pro-rated to 624 PAs:

.236 30 98 (over 100 RBI in 650 PAs)

.298 OBP

.459 SLG

.757 OPS
