I think it's unlikely but I wouldn't shocked or unhappy one bit if he was to come back next Friday .

I would say that there is 0% chance of Dombrowski asking Hanley to come back.

At this point, we could bring him back as a FT'er and he still wouldn't vest.

Actually, there is a 30 day wait on re-signing a released player. I think Hanley was technically released on June 1st, so they couldn't re-sign him until July 1 at the earliest.

And Kimmi has it correct, there is zero chance of Dombrowski taking him back (and zero chance that Hanley would come back to Boston.)

I totally agree. I was responding within the context of bringing him back.

The july 1st date would make vesting impossible within this impossible scenario.

Just breaking Hanley is being investigated by Feds in connection with a drug dealer.

Lol.

It looks like the suspicions that some had were warranted.

I tried to warn you guys that pot is a gateway drug, buy some just didn't want to listen?

;)

i think you were more perceptive than most about Hanley and you were unjustly abused for it. I think we have a pretty good idea why other teams have not been sniffing around Hanley for the minimum.

Thanks Eastwood, but given the lack of evidence the criticisms leveled on me were ok.

I get it. There was absolutely nothing to hang my hat on, but I personally still believe that Hanley & Pablo were both LIGHTS OUT for months at the end of 2015.

It ain't easy to be asked to go on vacation early in the mlb.

Usually you need at least a dead aunt? ;)

Like I've been saying over and over there might be a little more to this story than Hanley's option year.

I was kind of skeptical also, but Hanley being apart of a cocaine ring was not one of my guesses..What an absurd story, and this would be a ridiculous end to his Red Sox career.

Sorry, but there always has been. Whatever the hell this guy has gotten himself into, is due to poor judgement & a " hang loose... don't worry, be happy" lifestyle. Don't get me wrong! I like Hanley!!!! Lotta guys I grew up with, including myself, liked to "hang loose." Most of us grew up, but occasionally . . . "Embibe," so to speak. A certain few brainiac tech friends of mine can do it 24/7, and produce what few others in the world can behind a computer. Me? I produce little more than gas & bad breath after consuming great quantities of Doritos & spicy foods.....

Hanley? You can tell when he's locked in, early on in a given season, and periodically there after....

You can ALWAYS see it in his eyes when he goes FULL Rastafarian. ..... It ain't Fentynol! Hanley doesn't have a Fentynol problem, unless of course he's sponsoring one of his idiot "friends?" For the HanRam, it's all about the Ganja. Always has been, always will be.

Warning ! ! ! !

The above post is 100% informed OPINION, based on a good deal of "worldly pursuit...."

I could be wrong, but I'm not.

p.s. one of my favorite pursuits! LOVE LOVE LOVE the taste & smell of really good stuff. Just can't do it anymore :'(

There but for the grace of God go I!

Hanley's career is likely over. Regardless of the feelings being hurt here it was kind of obvious that he did not fit what the Sox have been trying to do. The Sox saw an opportunity once the talent was obviously not there to get rid of him. He is gone. The end.

And a very sad ending to a career that started so long ago in Boston.

In addition his act was old - good job DD and Alex of course.

The Feds might be dusting off the hot seat for Hanley.

I don’t think he will be making trips to the US anytime soon.

Red Sox and Hanley imitating the three blind mice about the investigation. How could Hanley not know. The perp FaceTimed him from the incident.
