Hanley best role was to only play vs LHP. You're paying him 15M anyway, and he hits LHP: .333 .378 .476

 

But I guess it wont sit well for HR in the clubhouse.

This was seriously a very good move IMO. Hanley milked that shoulder injury for too long (which I bought until this year.). Presto blammo. save 20 mil for next year.

 

Better watch out for Cora, him saying I really like you as a player kind of seems like the Italian Mafia's kiss of death now.

I'm surprised but this is an excellent move for the future of the team. Now they should concentrate on building more flexibility into the roster. Can't have a team with more than one player whose best position is DH.
