I was looking at MLB only, where metrics can help determine is his play was worthwhile.

He has played a lot of SS.  Is he any good?  His MLB sample is too small to know and he plays for a team that could have moved him for reasons other than his performance (like the existence of Bobby Witt Jr….

Unlike others on here, I'm not obsessed with Maikel Garcia and even need to look up how to spell his name.

MLB Pipeline:

Garcia is one of the best shortstops in the Royals’ system with a quick first step, above-average arm and great range. He is instinctual at the plate and in the field.

From TalkSox's own @Davy Andrews on FanGraphs:

Garcia came up as a shortstop, but with Bobby Witt Jr. set to lock that position down for the next decade or two, he quickly settled in as one of the best defensive third basemen in the game.

Baseball America grade: 60 field, 55 arm, smooth mechanics enable plus defense at multiple spots. BA also noted his strong footwork and that he was instinctual and polished with soft hands.
